Looks like they make a larger profit off of each unit than Sony does.

Yes they indeed do seem to make 29 dollars a unit of profit as opposed to Sony's PS4, which makes 19 dollars of profit.
Of course, as with other teardowns, this cost only covers the materials to build the systems--not any R&D or marketing or shipping or retail costs that also add to the cost of actually bringing a box to market.
They might not be making a profit, they might be breaking even or selling it a little bit of a loss, it's hard to say.
neither of em would be making a profit after shipping or retail costs
What about returns?
well be having a load of those for the xbone.
Only Facepunch would laugh at Microsoft for pricing their console fairly based on how much it costs to build. Clearly attempting to make any sort of profit, and beating Sony by any margin, is unacceptable greedy corporate shit

Yes you're right people definitely said that in this thread.
It always reminds me how I'd like a less monopoly like GPU and CPU industry.
It honestly doesn't matter to either Microsoft and Sony how much profit they're making off of their consoles. Their primary source of income from the consoles are the games that are being sold, since the developers has to pay ~$10 to them for each copy of the game sold.
