So I got myself a real nice pair of headphones last winter, they worked fine and dandy and the sound was great and all that shit. Well, they broke. I can only hear through the left earbud and it's pissing the fuck out of me being that they're really nice goddamn headphones. I've got another pair of headphones, but they're that awful cheap garbage used for MP3 players and iPods and they make everything sound like a 64kbps MP3 file, which is unacceptable. Can I fix my headphones and if I can, how?
Yes.
But it'll be probably much faster and cheaper to just buy new ones.
Plus new one aren't covered in duct tape.
Still it would help if you'd post the model.

I don't mind duct tape in the least as long as they're working fine.

Uh.
I think you'll have some problems prying everything open, fixing the teared connections AND try not to make it fall apart after you reassemble it.
The problem, if you're still willing to fix it, is most likely at the joints or where the cables connect to the speaker. You'll need to tear it apart as much as possible.
You might need to replace the wire or re-solder the connections onto the speaker(s).

I was pretty sure I'd have to tear it apart myself.
I've got some other broken headphones so I thought about cutting off their wires(all headphones have one working earbud so I thought about taking the non-damaged wires) and replacing the damaged one on these headphones. I just wanted to know, can I just cut off the damaged part of the wire(I know where it's damaged, at the joints) and duct tape the two wires together or do I have to completely remove the wire and replace it with a new one(which would be quite problematic)?
It'd be easier to just get new headphones.. I tried to fix my old ones. Sorta worked.. but their ugly as now, and sounq quality is plain compared to how it used to be.
