Hey. Looking to Upgrade my Nvidea GeForce 880 GTX to something far better. My PC specs are; I have around £200/£250 to spend. What's recommeded?
How much are GTX 570s there? I just bought one for around $350 (~220 pounds) and am enjoying it thoroughly.
5 gigabytes of RAM? That's an odd amount. :v:
Investigate the GTX570
About £245. [editline]21st June 2011[/editline] Is it good?

That went well, he asked for help and didn't call us idiots at some point like usual. :golfclap:

Why the fuck haven't anybody asked for PSU? [editline]21st June 2011[/editline]
512mb + 2048mb + 512mb + 2048mb = 5gb running well in dual channel
512MB DDR3 sticks are pretty hard to get by.
8800GTX
fail
8800GTX
More like, if he can support that he can support a 570.
Why has no one mentioned AMD/ATI cards?
More like, if he can support that he can support a 570.
But 570 takes more power than 8800GTX according to PSU calculators.
But 570 takes more power than 8800GTX according to PSU calculators.
PSU calculators are shit. Anyway, there's a pretty large difference between a 8800GTX and GTX 570, and it's a much more expensive card, so you'll be extra sad when your money is flushed down the drain, due to a faulty PSU.
Why has no one mentioned AMD/ATI cards?
[sp]fp is partial to nvidia[/sp]
At that price, unless he has more than 2 monitors, Nvidia is his best choice. The 560 Ti/570 are both great cards.
560 Ti and 6950 are a pretty close match though.
[sp]fp is partial to nvidia[/sp]
nah 560ti is £175 compared to 6950 £185 570 is £240, 6970 is £250 I'm partial to not wasting money
nah 560ti is £175 compared to 6950 £185 570 is £240, 6970 is £250 I'm partial to not wasting money
To be fair, the 6950 is generally a tiny bit better, and so with the 6970, but it's still within margin of error. The GTX 560 was a good deal more expensive when I bought my 6950, so I don't complain, really. [editline]24th June 2011[/editline]
[sp]fp is partial to nvidia[/sp]
I own an AMD card (like many other users here), and I recommend either AMD and Nvidia based on the price tag (like many other users here). Generally, I find that the H&S section is pretty unbiased, compared to alot of other forums.
[sp]fp is partial to nvidia[/sp]
I've seen more 6850-6950 posts on here than any other site I visit.
