• Connecting to a wireless router with a wire?

I don't really know how to explain it, but I'm going to try. I use a wireless router, and I usually just use wireless, but lately I've been having some problems with a bad connection, so I decided to get out an ethernet cord and wire it up. I connected my computer and my router through the ethernet cord, but when I disable my Wireless connection from the Network and Sharing Center on Windows 7, I don't then know how to connect through the wire? TL;DR, can't connect to a wireless router through an ethernet cord, once wireless connection is disabled via Network/Sharing center, computer doesn't connect wired. I hope I explained that well. Thank you for all your help!
1. Make sure the Ethernet cable is plugged into the right place on the router 2. Make sure it is properly connected to your computer. 3. Uninstall any wireless network drivers 4. Make sure you have an updated Ethernet/LAN driver for your computer. Other than that, it should just connect automatically. Assuming you have a desktop. For a laptop, remove step 3.
Hit the start menu. Type into the little search bar at the bottom: ncpa.cpl Disable your wireless adapter (right click > disable) Enable your ethernet adapter if it isn't already enabled
