um, i dont know, diddnt play diablo for mods anyway, and as long as there IS an sp with a bit of online in it (most likely gonna happen.), its fine with me.
I haven't followed D3 so much, but will the MP have a monthly fee?

No, it's not an MMO.
They've taken the buying items part out of context. You have the OPTION to buy items for money. You can still trade items normally for in-game cash or what-have-you.
Why don't they just make it so you can play offline but be unable to bring that character into Battle.net?
Oh wait shitty DRM my bad

Also last I checked, SC2 singleplayer was cracked BEFORE the release date, and it was put up online when the real copies hit the shelves
So yeah
Blah, blizzard is just getting worse and worse. I was more excited for Torchlight 2 anyway :)
WTF?
Screw this...My interest level in the game just dropped quite a bit...
Mods where the only reason I played Diablo 2.
The likes of Nezeramonties and Median XL really made it a class of its own.
No mods? Fuck you Blizzard. What's next? Warcraft IV without a map editor? Seriously... fuck's sake.
Suddenly Torchlight 2 is looking like a better choice.
Blizzard doomed themselves the day they joined Activision.
No, it's not an MMO.
Yeah, but Activision's involved so you never know.
I think the always-online thing was pretty much guaranteed after SC2
plus there will also be an additional auction house that uses in-game gold. So this element of the game can, at least, be dodged entirely.
So who gives a fuck about the cash trade? and it sounds awesome to me because people will pay real money for in-game items like theres no tomorrow. so there's profit to be had playing it.
One of the things that we felt was really important was that if you did play offline, if we allowed for that experience, you’d start a character, you’d get him all the way to level 20 or level 30 or level 40 or what have you, and then at that point you might decide to want to venture onto Battle.net. But you’d have to start a character from scratch, because there’d be no way for us to guarantee no cheats were involved, if we let you play on the client and then take that character online.” Also, piracy.
You couldn't do it in DII either, so i dont really care
As for no mods that does sound shitty but I guess we'll just wait and see if there's any need for them anyway
it's diablo 3
they could announce that the game has turned into a hey-stacking simulator and i'd still buy it because it's diablo
Suddenly Torchlight 2 is looking like a better choice.
that's funny
you should be a comedian
It's taking forever to come out anyway so Torchlight 2 sounds much better

Can't agree more.
Went from superstoked to 'the fuck'
I went from stoked to more stoked
I don't even know what the issue is

that's the issue
I think it is too
So if my dodgy connection decides to drop out in the middle of playing I'll be logged out
No purchase

it's probably more like starcraft 2 i have a dodgy connection when i play those too and the game just informs you that you are disconnected from battle.net

Does any of your progress get saved? If so, it seems to defeat the purpose of the anti-cheat thing they have going on

i wouldn't get too antsy about it yet
mostly their idea is to make sure single-player characters don't get abused when they go into multiplayer which happened on open diablo 2 servers all the time
they also had closed servers where your character was stored online and expired
Well if that's the case then I'll stop bitching
no one really knows how the game will play off yet so if the game fucks you over when you lose your internet connection you'll have the right to complain
Always online is where I draw the line. My internet connection simply isn't stable enough to live with that.
i will buy it anyway, they done this kind of stuff to SC2 too and after a week people forgot about all the shit they changed
