Okay, I've been listening to the same stuff over and over for months, and I really need some new music to listen to. I like Rush, Coheed and Cambria, the Beatles, Weezer, TV on the Radio, Iron Maiden, and Nirvana. Indie bands would be preferred, or at least none of the shitty "made for radio" music that's always on. Please, FP, help me out.
Check out Dream Theater. They're like Rush and Iron Maiden put together.
For indie/alternative bands check out Pavement, Pixies, and R.E.M.
[editline]11:04PM[/editline]
Also, if you like Nirvana you have to check out Alice in Chains.
R.E.M.
Forgot to mention I like them.
Hey, this might be a stretch, but if you like Led Zeppelin, you'd like The Parlor Mob.

You could also check out Cold, Drist, and No Motiv.
Hope I helped. =]
Buy every Rush album first.
Or get:
Hemispheres
A Farewell To Kings
Fly By Night
A Caress of Steel (Underrated and not one bad song on it)
Queen, Dire Straits, Canned Heat, James Gang, Mark Knopfler etc. etc.
Can't go wrong with Queens of the Stone Age
Little Feat

You like those bands but you want indie?
You're just like me, when I went through my massive 3 year music overhaul between grades 9-12
I recommend:
The Tough Alliance
Animal Collective
Bjork
Beirut
Blind Pilot
Caribou
Deerhunter
Black Moth Super Rainbow
Coconut Records
Crystal Castles
CSS
Death From Above 1979
Final Fantasy
Foals
Gogol Bordello
Klaxons
La Roux
Ladytron
Man Man
That should be plenty for now. Check out at least a clip of each artist to decide if you like them or not. Bold ones are ones you should definitely listen to.

For your style try:
Guilt Machine
The Police
Mastodon
Muse
Nine Inch Nails

You like what I like, mostly. Minus some Queen, Neil Young, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, Zeppelin, and if you really like Maiden you might want to look up some of Bruce Dickinson's solo material.
Incubus
Guster
Death Cab For Cutie
maybe...
Metallica maybe
It's kind of a long shot but you might like Sunny Day Real Estate.
How about Cream, John Mayall or perhaps Taste?
Tool?
Sonic Youth, Sleater-Kinney, Pavement, Gang of Four, Brian Eno, and what Risonhighmer said except bold Death From Above.
You guys have really mainstream music taste.
You may like Anthrax.

Damn I wish I was as cool as that guy who listens to bands I've never heard of.
Plan Three

Did I say it was a bad thing?
I'm just pointing out it's basically either Hendrix, Clapton and Vai, all whom I like, or metal. Also, popular bands can be non-mainstream.
Three Days Grace
Someone also mentioned Alice in Chains, on a personal note, I dont think there is a song of theirs I dont like.
