You would think that more and more manufactures would be looking to innovate and jump onto next generation technology as soon as possible, but that is not the case for Sony. It seems they are taking two steps forward and one backwards. With all the new advancements that Sony is undertaking, such as 3D TVs, 3D support for the PlayStation 3 and the such, this announcement comes as quite unexpected. Sony has decided to stop making OLED TVs for Japan. This might not be a big loss, considering that Sony have had the same 11” TV model for the past 3 Years, but it can show many things, such as OLED just isn’t ready for the market yet. This comes as no surprise considering an 11” OLED TV costs $2000. You’d think by now, Sony would be rolling out OLED TVs by the truckload, since they were the first to release an OLED TV to consumers; instead they’ve decided to stop making them at all – for Japan at least. Hopefully this will mean something else. Let’s all stay hopeful that LG continues with their schedule – to have 40” OLED TVs by the end of the year, otherwise we shall be stuck with LCDs for quite a while more.

No cheap OLED monitor for me
suxs
We aren't done milking every last cent off of current tech.
Not surprised really, LED TV's are the thing now and more and more companies are moving to it, soon enough we will have affordable OLED TV's. Everyone like the LED TV's too, i mean shit they're only 2-3 inches thick and hang on the wall like a picture (You buy a mounting kit that looks like picture wire and two or three mounts that the wire holds on too)
Why would you possibly need one anyway?
Looks like Sony stopped selling OLED TVs in Japan

OLED Screens are still useful. We could one day have Heads-Up-Displays for our Soldiers\Pilots.
Fuck the price, have they fixed the deterioration problems?

Pretty sure some pilot helmets are equipped with HUDs.
I've seen this TV IRL and it was quite amazing. By the price tag at least. The image quality and contrast was quite jaw-dropping.
What happened to the Contact Lenses with HUDs on them?
I'm sure once OLED's come down in price, they will actually be practical for many uses, but until then, 11", 2000 bucks... Yeah not even close
I will keep using my NOLED tv.
My LED Monitor is the shit, very thin and pretty colours.
