A lot of this stuff I just went off of what was the best rated haha. But yeah if ya'll can help me and tell me if I've made any mistakes or if something would be impractical that'd be awesome. A lot of what I'm wanting is data security and to be able to play some new games with on decent settings with a decent amount of FPS.
Terrible GPU, overkill ram, overpriced HDDs.
Get 2x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185
Cheaper and better hard drives.
RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314
No need for 16gb for gaming.
Get the new i5-3570k, worth the $10 extra.

I'll adjust your GPU on your budget, but I need a $ amount you want to spend.
Well, I'd be willing to shell out more money if its worth it. Not willing to go above $500 though.

If you mean $500 for the GPU alone then you'll want a 670. I'd recommend MSI's Twin Frozr one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127685
You can always go single fan Evga if you want, but you'll have much better cooling with the MSI card.
Just to make sure I'm reading your post right OP, you're planning to use this build for gaming right? Not for any rendering or graphical/cpu intense programs?
Well I was wanting to try out Source Film Maker, not sure how intensive that whole deal is.
