So, hes getting put on a drug called Isotretinoin, brand named accutane. for acne, now this is a very high profile medication. involving monthly blood tests, and several wafers in case he spontaneously kills himself. Now SWIM loves to do Dextromethoriphan, and a week before his first blood test he did... and his mom told him that they found his "Liver levels were off" most likely indicating liver damage from the DXM (He assumes). For that blood test, he had to not eat anything 10 hours before, but for the next one they assigned a few days after he doesn't have to fast at all, hes thinking this means that they're checking him for specifically his liver functionality. He doesn't know what will come of this, if its off again, there might be a drug test? and DXM triggers false positives for PCP on occasion, hes a bit worried. Hes had a good track record on not getting caught, at all. So he read up on other things that can cause liver damage, like sugar, dyes, and so on. hes hoping, that if it comes down to it, he can ride on one of those. So, it will have been 2 weeks since his last time using DXM, Do you think it would still be effecting his liver, or his tests? if they do a drug test, whats the likelihood of it triggering a PCP positive. Good excuses i can give him to ride on?
Thanks in advance for any help you can supply.

I suggest he stop talking in third person.

Not very helpful but why do you need a prescription for acne medicine whats different about that one compared to over the counter ones

Accutane is some pretty serious shit.

Accutane is hard core medication, the side effects are:
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Crohn’s Disease
Ulcerative colitis
Severe depression
Suicidal thoughts or actions
Birth defects
Liver damage (characterized by loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea and yellowing of the skin or eyes)
Allergic reactions
Accutane is a last resort with acne, it's pretty much if this doesn't fix it you're SOL.
Source: I've been on it three times. :C
OK well, did he specifically say "have you been abusing DXM?" or accusing you of abusing any sort of drug?
It's not like he's trying to get you in trouble and call the cops, he's trying to provide the best possible treatment for your condition. Therefore, he needs to know about your health.

i find the less you worry about acne the less you seem to get it.
Tell them you've been eating rough shit, or drank too much. Fuck IDK.
Also if SWIM got problem maybe he should get a POOL. -- every time i see this shit.
I wish I was called SWIM, what a cool name!

It's actually illegal for doctors to reveal that information, regardless of use vs. abuse or if the drug itself is illegal. Remember, you pay your doctor to help you. You can tell them everything about your drug use.
I was in the system two weeks ago and I learned a lot about patient-doctor confidentiality. I was straight-up telling them "Oh yeah, I've used LSD, Mushrooms, DXM, K2, Weed (lots of weed) and I plan on doing more when I get out." They can't do anything about it aside from (worst case) refuse to see you, or make suggestions against it. Don't keep shit from your doctor or they can't help and you're wasting yours and your doctor's fucking time and money.
Alright, thanks for the advice everyone. I guess i was just being paranoid. the test is tomorrow morning, lets hope for the best.
Remember also that if your doctor does happen to breach confidentiality, you can sue. The only exceptions for breach of confidentiality are concern for the safety of other specific persons (homicidal ideations) and concern for public welfare (zombie bite).
You don't have to worry about anything, really. If he does try to snitch on you, lawyer up and take him down, but that won't happen because I assume, as a practicing doctor, that he doesn't want to completely destroy everything he's ever worked for over some kid doing DXM.
Another question, would MXE effect these damn blood work tests at all? (Also an update, apparently, my "levels" are getting better but they aren't where they need to be i have to go AGAIN in 2 weeks)
i think MXE can test positive for PCP as well
If you're trying to take medication to help an issue, and recreational drug use interferes, i think you should quit for a bit
Smoked weed with an on-leave navy Seal yesterday at a party. Very chill guy, first time he smoked in some 3 odd years. I had to ask him if he's seen any action and he's been on one tour, asked him how combat is, said its just a big blur when your out there, doing rather than thinking. Crazy shit.

Typically if you post in a thread doesn't matter about the content of the post it's called bumping
