Buy it now.
Yes.
10$ is a steal
I didn't really enjoy the Multiplayer that much. That said, I do not regret spending $60 on this at launch, and you won't regret $10.
that's a funny way of spelling GTA V [sp] MP3 is amazing, for this price it is SO worth it![/sp]
35 gbs of hard disk space? no thanks
generic shooter that spends all its time trying to emulate a headache when it doesn't need to because it is a fucking headache
Like a third of your time with this game will be spent on unskippable cutscenes, many of them completely unnecessary, and there's little more to the gameplay than a shooting gallery. Luckily enough the shooting gallery is fantastic, so it's definitely worth this price.
35 gbs of hard disk space? no thanks
what do you have? a 64 gb hard drive? jesus christ
generic shooter that spends all its time trying to emulate a headache when it doesn't need to because it is a fucking headache
"generic" seriously what?
generic shooter that spends all its time trying to emulate a headache when it doesn't need to because it is a fucking headache
Your post causes brain death.
generic shooter that spends all its time trying to emulate a headache when it doesn't need to because it is a fucking headache
Stop playing video games altogether.
generic shooter that spends all its time trying to emulate a headache when it doesn't need to because it is a fucking headache
looking past how wrong you are, if that was supposed to sound clever, it just sounded fucking stupid.
generic shooter that spends all its time trying to emulate a headache when it doesn't need to because it is a fucking headache
I think you meant "one of the best third person shooters of recent time", not "generic".
the first two games were very self aware but the third game is just pointlessly grim slog - max whines throughout the entire game and without that subtle sense of parody we saw in 1 and 2 the melodrama makes for a plot more pointlessly moody than GTAIV. and how is MP3 not generic? it's set in the 21st century, max "mighty whitey" payne runs around an impoverished city butchering as many brown people as possible (audibly jerking off into the mic about it doesn't make this any better). you must use a variety of modern firearms, complete with scopes and reflex sights and tactical flashlights, to accomplish this task in a world with the stunning art direction of "gritty realism". at no point is any variety introduced into the gameplay. the game's difficulty and play style is entirely consistent from the penthouse opening to the super-dramatic airport finale - even in flashbacks max payne 3 doesn't change it up at all

The gameplay in MP3 is pretty much the same as 1 and 2, only more complex and with more stuff.

The dialog and Max character model with all his cloths were all really well detailed. The gunplay was very refreshing as well, easily. if you don't like shooters thats OK but it's far from 'generic'
An excellent game, I recommend getting it. Though the multiplayer is horribly unbalanced. And by unbalanced I mean: PT92 + PT92 = better then any other gun/ dual loadout in the game, even most if not all of the DLC weapons.
oh yeah now i remember i had trouble remembering before because the gameplay of those was dire too!
No, fuck off, the gameplay in both of them was amazingly fun and still holds up until today since it still manages to control better than a lot of modern third person shooters.
i love shooters max payne 3 did absolutely nothing interesting at any point
"the penthouse opening to the super-dramatic airport finale" not interesting enough that you played the entire game right?
i love shooters max payne 3 did absolutely nothing interesting at any point
Can you just give it up? We get it. Max Payne series are terrible and we should all think like you.
"the penthouse opening to the super-dramatic airport finale" not interesting enough that you played the entire game right?
i wasted £30 on it i had to hope [editline]29th October 2013[/editline]
Can you just give it up?
Can you just give it up? We get it. Max Payne series are terrible and we should all think like you.
Everyone else is saying "Max Payne is great and you should think like us". It's not a one way street. Some liked the gameplay and liked the game. Some disliked the gameplay and disliked the game. Some liked the gameplay but disliked the game. We all have our reasons to think like we do.
Did you somehow forget that Max Payne 1 and 2 were also third person shooters? The gameplay in MP3 is pretty much the same as 1 and 2, only more complex and with more stuff.
I think you mean less complex with less stuff. Max Payne 1 and 2 involved puzzle solving, exploration and platforming as well as the shooting, and the shooting was arguably more complex because the game didn't cut to a cinematic every ten feet. The only improvements Max Payne 3 brings to the table are the shooting mechanics themselves, an awkward last-stand feature, and a cover system. The story also suffers majorly from a number of plot holes and some really terrible pacing, along with some of worst gameplay/cutscene segregation I've ever seen. Half the plot is the result of Max conveniently being unable to behave like he does in the gameplay. It doesn't help that most of the plot and aesthetics are lifted from Man on Fire, as opposed to the previous games, so everything memorable or unique to the first two are stripped out so Dan Houser could rip-off his favourite movie. The first two might have been more campy, but at least Sam Lake knew 'show don't tell' and that he was making a videogame, not a film. The dream sequences in the original tell us far more about Max's guilt and suffering than every single thing he says in the third, and it was all done through gameplay. This is coming from someone who liked the game too. At this price, it's a definite buy.
No, fuck off, the gameplay in both of them was amazingly fun and still holds up until today since it still manages to control better than a lot of modern third person shooters.
Damn straight. I just realised both those posts are yours.
I think Max Payne 3 was good for what it was. The story could've been more.. Max Payne-y but for Rockstar's handling of it I feel it worked at least. Enemy AI could be a little annoying with how they instantly shoot the moment you try to pop out of cover, but for the most part I only remember one specific part in the game as being an utter bitch in difficulty. I think the worst problem with Max Payne 3, really, was the multiplayer. If you could even play it to begin with (I don't know if it was patched to have better chances of connecting to servers), by now you'd probably have to compete with foreign players that have leveled up to get the better guns and upgrades, and pistols have basically no spread whatsoever compared to the rest of the weapons. You could snipe snipers with akimbo pistols. v:v:v
I haven't played in a while but by my experience the MP is near death by now. If you are getting this maybe buy the COOP DLC, too. Deathmatch made in heaven I think it's called. About MP, shame they didn't try to balance it more after release. Basically akimbo pistols is the best loadout for anyone. There are few good two-handed weapons but they require a bit of skill to master unlike the pistols.
I didn't really enjoy the Multiplayer that much. That said, I do not regret spending $60 on this at launch, and you won't regret $10.
I bought it in a sale at £19.99, can't go online because it won't initialise when I'm connected to the internet, and I STILL think it's worth it for the single player alone.
generic shooter that spends all its time trying to emulate a headache when it doesn't need to because it is a fucking headache
Yeah man it's just like that other game with toggable bullet time and shootdodge. You know, Max Payne 2. Seriously, you're an idiot. You can't call the franchise that STARTED THE FUCKING BULLET TIME FEATURE (in video games) "generic."
