It's okay, but I've got two major complaints with this game. Not sure if they've been patched tho.
First of all, you must eat in this game or you will starve to dead. Food is obtained from looting or enemy drops, as well as cooking combining ingredients. Sounds good, but it's entirely luck based, and you'll often get playthroughs where everything is going good, but you keep running out of food, and in the end will starve to death because the RNG didn't feel like dropping anything edible. There's also no strategy to it, as most of the time you just want to eat food the moment you get it, as long as eating it won't waste its food value beyond your hunger bar limit.
You could upgrade your foraging skills, but that didn't help at all, and I tried yes.
My second complaint, I've noticed, most of the time, the moment you step into a new floor, almost all of the enemies will come for you, and you'll have to fight them in the room with the stairs and in the sorrounding corridors, perhaps the rooms sorrounding those corridors. After that, you'll just run around the level inspecting rooms and looting, without having to worry about enemies, encountering only 1 or 2 mobs lost here and there. Either that, or especial/locked rooms.
Those are my complaints about this game, I don't know if they have fixed those, but as long as they haven't, I can't recommend this game as it's just absolute bollocks. It's sad, because the rest was okay, I had fun, but then you just get annoyed by its bullshit. And roguelikes are known for their bullshit, but roguelike bullshit is the one you can overcome. You can't overcome RNG.
