I'm looking for an easy-to-use box to plug into the telly for my mum to use to watch iPlayer + ITV Player + 4OD.
I'm in the UK.
I've looked at the Roku, but that doesn't seem to do 4OD and ITV Player.
I don't want one of those Android sticks or a Raspberry Pi as the scope of things to be laggy and go wrong is too high.
The only thing I can think of is a Youview box, but that's probably extreme overkill for what you want and it is a bit pricey at the moment.
If she has a laptop, think about getting a extra long HDMI cable if they can go to the length you want (Its not my area of expertise here unfortunately) and route it around the edge of the room to where she sits.

shit nevermind apparently it doesn't work with Linux, only windows 8
Some consoles support BBC iPlayer, 4oD and ITVPlayer.
Otherwise I'd just recommend buying a cheap computer to use as a media center / internet TV device.
You need to watch out regarding VGA/HDMI cables and resolution/sound support through them to your TV. (Some cables may not span the whole TV resolution).
Thanks for the suggestions, I think were going to switch broadband soon to BT Infinity, and you can pay a one-off fee of £50 for a YouView box, so I think I'll do that.
Whilst the suggestions for a computer are a good one, the purpose of the box is to simply things (something that can be turned on and easily navigable with one remote), not so much just to get iPlayer on the big screen. A computer is far to complicated for the job and is a lot more fiddly to use.
The xbox 360 seems to do everything I want though, so that may be an option if we don't go for the YouView.

You'd be better off using a PS3
I believe that a lot of services like this require you to have one of those fancy Microsoft Subscriptions... I've only heard about people QQ'ing about it with Internet Explorer & Netflix.
