Hey, I'm in a band, I made a song not so long ago and I wanna know how you guys react to the lyrics... So here goes...
Now bow your head and say your prayers
And while your at it take whats theirs
Hope for a life that's not this bad
Hope for a song not quite as sad
Free yourself and free your life
And while your at it take this knife
I'll kill myself if I can't break free
I'll kill myself if I can't break free
We're taken by the media
listen to what I say
burgers noodles and pizza
Here it comes judgement day
Breathing down your fucking neck
listen to what I say
The countrys dead yeah it's a wreck
Here it comes judgement day
Now take this gun and shoot at them
But what's different between us and them
You call them black and you say they bomb
Hey that's good just blame islam
We elected Gordon Brown
But we're rejected and beaten down
Come one come all to this freak sideshow
Pack your bags come on lets go!
We're taken by the media
listen to what I say
burgers noodles and pizza
Here it comes judgement day
Breathing down your fucking neck
listen to what I say
The countrys dead yeah it's a wreck
Here it is Judgement Day

Sounds pretty good man, just get some meaty riffs behind it.
Already got some riffs
Not too shabby. When is your album out and where can I get it?
It'll be out in the next couple of weeks. I will provide a link...
Cheers babes

Yeah, all our songs are Political.
No Prob. Does anyone want our whole set of Lyrics?
I would very much like that
Yeah, all our songs are Political.
I like political music, but I like it more when it focusses on a particular issue or trend, not just "dem govmunts thay are eevil". For example
There's a young boy in the queue
There's not much else here for him to do
He's had a drink, he's had a few
Down the pub on Hope Street
Dear old lady, you're looking thin
Got a shopping bag with your life in
Your old man's going through the bins
And so it goes on hope street
Rain on me come pouring down
Clean the dirt off this old town
Tell the sun to come around
And show his face on Hope Street
There's a fight right down the street
The betting shop has got him beat
He blew his money for the week
On a horse called Hope Street
No old faces out today
Someone took them all away
Cleaning up or so they say
The dirty face of Hope Street
Rain on me come pouring down
Clean the dirt of this old town
Tell the sun to come around
And show his face on hope street
Rain on me come pouring down
Clean the dirt of this old town
Tell the sun to come around
And show his face on hope street
Everyday I look at you
Dressed up in your ties of blue
Saying there's not much that you can do
To help the kids on Hope Street
You don't seem to even care
That it was you that put them there
You seem to think they like it there
Hanging out on Hope Street
Rain on me come pouring down
Clean the dirt off this old town
Tell the sun to come around
And show his face on hope street
Like I said, your lyrics are good, but if all the songs on the album are just generic fight the power songs it could get repetitive. If the other songs focus on specific issues and that is a sort of theme song anthem thing, then it could work really well.

Track 1 - Linear Motion
Linear Motion
Intro
Back in school we get good grades
Now with our education it just fades
We sit on our ass all god damn day
I feel my voice slipping away
[Bridge]
Verse 1
We go to college, get a job
we get our pay, light the hob
cook a meal, eat alone
wait for the ring, of the telephone
check the mail, we got bills
grab our bag, run to the hills
stop the path, breaking free
politcal death means anarchy
Chorus
Now life is a linear motion
we do the same things and the same things happen
And life is a linear motion
feel no pain, no emotion
But life is a linear motion
We rise up yet nothing happens
Yeah life is a linear motion
rise up and just don't listen
[Bridge]
Verse 2
Damn kids, your all the same
So take a gun and take your aim
Join the army, kill a man
lifes a bitch, and so we ran
away from home, from safe hands
we ran through hills, onto the sands
we got to the sea, ome last time
we ran from it all, escaped war time
Chorus
Now life is a linear motion
we do the same things and the same things happen
And life is a linear motion
feel no pain, no emotion
But life is a linear motion
We rise up yet nothing happens
Yeah life is a linear motion
rise up and just don't listen
[Bridge]
[Oli Solo]
[Matt Solo]
The bit that don't get a name!
I looked into your eyes, to see if I could see
The torment in the world, the plee of sympathy
But as I looked at you, and you looked back at me
we knew it couldn't last, we would never be free
Outro x 2
Back in school we get good grades
Now with our education it just fades
We sit on our ass all god damn day
I feel my voice slipping away

And I'm never gonna quit it
Hell why don'tcha turn it up
- Verse 1 -
But who the fuck are we
To give into the fury
My fists become the rage
And the battle will engage
But Who the fuck are you
To critisize a jew
You're no different to Hitler
You're just like a loyer
- Chorus -
Your fillling up our ears
with bullshit useless noise
controlling all our fears
with your political ploys
- Verse 2 -
Racist, Facist, really quite insane
Mindless, Faceless, Generic piece of shit
Nick Griffin causes pain
Killer, Liar, Main Culprit
Out of Hope, out of faith
Out of white, out of the country
In with pain, in with hate
Why don't you bring in the body bags
- Chorus -
Your fillling up our ears
with bullshit useless noise
controlling all our fears
with your political ploys
- Outro - Speaking -
Fill our ears with the noise of the patriots
But we won't give in, think for yourself
Rise above the soundwaves, listen to the truth
Look around, look at the homeless, the poor
the young, the elderly
Stop the hatred and the war, stop the racism
The Facism, The Government

Track 7 - Give It Up
Gotta Copy this onto my PC
I would never share lyrics of mine over the internet.
Well, If Someone Nicks them I don't care. If someone wants to use them perfectly fine, they're just words, spreading the word of what's right isn't a bad thing. All I ask is people aknowlage that we made these lyrics, they came from our hearts.
I really like those, actually, especially linear motion. Would go well with fiddles; the lyrics are sort of folky, and in a lot of ways quite similar to the other Levellers lyrics (no bad thing; they are one of my favourite bands).
[editline]01:45AM[/editline]
But as a tip; don't use names. If you use names, you are confining your song to one particular time in the soon to be history. If you want your lyrics to hold up ten years from now, don't use names of today's political figures.
Thanks, We wrote about Nick Griffin because of what he has done which annoys us. Out of all the government organisations I would say bnp is by far the worst.
I'll copy up "Give it Up" Soon

Anyone noticed anything about Track 5
You sound kind of emo, I hope all your songs aren't whining about the government and the media, at least have some uplifting ones.
Our first album is about the Afghan war, How the media have made it massive and how the government keep sending people in to die for their government. Our second Album will be uplifting, it will be about how life would be without laws, regulations and restrictions. And although alot of the lyrics have a harsh meaning the tunes are quite upbeat and nice. I really wouldn't call us emo, we're more Hard Punk than anything.

Perhaps you should mix it up a bit, add some variety, people don't like to be constantly reminded how depressing the world is, we're already in a recession.
Well, as I said the tune is nice and happy. I think you would enjoy the second Album More.

Educate yourself.
