Im pretty good at troubleshooting problems with computers but when its comes to networking... Im lost. After awhile of using my computer on my network (with.. apx. 8+ other devices connected) the router likes to kick someone's wifi connection out. I have checked the DHCP and it has plenty of IPs to dish out (like 100 of them) so that shouldn't be the issue. I have tried reserving a local IP without success. The only way to get the kicked out computer back on the network is a complete router restart. Router is TP-Link TL-WR1043N [editline]11th January 2012[/editline] Stock firmware too
They sometimes have a setting that lets you set the max amount of DHCP users. Make sure this is set high enough, as it sounds like although it has plenty of addresses to give, it is reaching a limit.
I looked, there is no setting from within the router that is the max users.
Could be also called DHCP Pool Size. I don't know how the configuration page looks like on your router, but i'm pretty sure you should find something that let's you change the ammount of the IP addresses the router can assign trough DHCP. Can you post a screenshot of your DHCP settings page?
Sure, here you go: [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11823009/other/dhcp.png[/t]
Try setting the lease time to the maximum. Perhaps the lease is running out, and due to bad firmware it's not dishing out another lease. Or perhaps with lots of clients it runs out of processor capacity to give out leases with any speed. Also consumer grade wireless routers are commonly not designed to handle lots of wireless clients.

soo... to resolve this, I should get new firmware on?
Just got DDWRT. Hopefully this will solve the issue. Max clients is set at 50
Yeah, I was going to recommend DD-WRT. The people who make it put a lot more effort into it than manufacturers.
