A couple have been left fuming after spending £200,000 on a brand new home - only to find their cars won't fit into the garage.
Claire Walker, 37, was stunned to discover the garage at the detached three-bedroom property in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was too narrow to accommodate her Volvo S40.
Her partner Andy Birkhead, 33, managed to squeeze his Fiesta ST all the way in, but was left stuck in his car because there wasn't enough space to open his door.
What's the average price for a house in the US?

brand new inflated prices in nice area with fancy state school catchment area is my bed.
people down the road from me paid £900,000 for a house hardly worth the money imo. it's got en suites and shit but it's seriously not worth that kind of money.
...how does anyone justify paying ~$260k for that?
Yeah house prices are ridiculous in some parts of the UK.
That's why you get those stories of asylum seekers in million pound houses. The house prices are artificially high. Gentrification and all that.

maybe the walls are lined with silver?
If my 80 year old grandparents can climb over the seat and get out the passenger door in their garage which is exactly the same as this one, so can you.

real estate values fluctuate based on a lot of things. Good neighborhood, near a major town with lots of convenience, near waterfront or other public attractions, etc.

It really depends where you live. Though I have seen houses the size of that shack for close to 80,000 in TN. I'm not surprised on the price of that house considering England is hella compact.
The prices vary massively as well, my parents house is worth about 400k (it was very cheap when they bought it 22 years ago) in the south. Someone I work with (in the north) has a similar size house with loft conversion and a semi finished basement and it's currently for sale for about half of that.

Use the volvo stronk door to punch your way through the wall safely.
That house looks tiny.
That's a 250 000$ house
it's so tiny
$250000 is price of a tiny condo flat in my city, not even in the center.
You drive 20km from the city and you can get a whole house with a big garage and everything for the same price.
It's all about the location.
Jesus
I guess I forgot how cheap housing can get in rural Canada
why would you buy a house that's practically half garage... and then not notice the garage wouldn't fit a ford fiesta
Oh yeah, if garry unbanned everyone, this bot's free as well. Looks like matt.ant is out of a job.
How could you not notice how small the garage is before buying it? It's like they just saw a picture of it in the paper and bought it without ever going to look at it in person.
The further north you go in England, the more house you will get with £200000, until you reach Scotland were you can buy a forest
