Has anyone ever been here? I personally fascinate with visiting here, but still I don't have money to go to Japan.
For those of you who don't know, Hashima Island is an abandoned island abandoned by some coal incident I don't know of. Type it in on google maps and use street view, there is access.
Now since 2009 you can go on tours on the island I believe.

The island has been in music videos, and inspired that one place in the movie [sp]Skyfall, that abandoned island [/sp]
Not an incident, just since petrol pretty much replaced coal in the mid 1960s Japan, they shut down the mines there. So everyone pretty much left. But it's a place I'd like to go to, along with Chernobyl.
I'm actually curious to know if it's possible to access whatever mines they had on the island...
They also used this as a location in Skyfall.

They based it off of that yes

Considering its an island in the middle of the ocean it's safe to say the mine has flooded

No, they actually went there to film.
I would love to go here. An entire city like that, just gone.
Reminds me of Chernobyl, just without the radiation [sp]and bloodsuckers[/sp]
There's something gorgeous about urban areas like this just... vacant. Derelict.
