I came in here literally to say 'don't bother try it, it's boring', but it seems the first sentence of the article did that for me. Haha
"It's not only boring," we said in our review of the PC version of Need for Speed that came out earlier this year, several months behind the console releases, "but so bereft of ideas that it represents a series running dangerously low on creative fuel."
Jeez....we're far from the days of the original Hot Pursuit and Underground...

I miss shit like the old NFS games and Burnout (specifically 3 but Paradise was pretty good as well)
the industry is running extremely low on good arcade racing games.

... I liked it.
Tbh the number of cars in the game was poor, the actual variety of cars was the really generic sports cars and supercars that you see in other games like DriveClub and The Crew (the inclusion of Porsches isn't enough, and no one bought the game for Hot Rods). I cannot emphasise how boring and uninspired the car selection was.
The upgrades and modifications were too simplistic; and GTA V is actually comparable in terms of body mods available while having more cars. Driving around to missions was boring. The handling and vehicle physics were just wrong. The story, cutscenes, phone calls etc were awfully cringeworthy. The game was a whole lot of wasted potential.

It actually really annoys me that developers think that we want the same damn cars every time.

I also liked the older NFS games that allowed really stupid vehicles to be raced, up against things like lamborghinis.
If the handling physics weren't intrusive, unrealistic bullshit, NFS would've been great. Underground 2 was an arcade game, but it had some semblance of physics and it was great.
