A California-based teen is hoping to spearhead a national boycott of Girl Scout cookies after the organization's controversial decision to admit a 7-year-old transgender child to a Colorado troop this past fall.
The girl, which World News Daily has identified only as Taylor from Ventura County, Calif., appears in a YouTube video in which she claims her organization is using proceeds from sales of the popular cookies to "[promote] the desires of a small handful of people."
"Right now, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A...is not being honest with us girls, its troops, its leaders, its parents or the American public," Taylor, who claims to have been a Girl Scout for eight years, says in the clip. "Girl Scouts describes itself as an all-girl experience. With that label, families trust that the girls will be in an environment that is not only nurturing and sensitive to girls' needs, but also safe for girls."
She goes on to note, "I am asking you to take action with me and boycott Girl Scout Cookies." The video eventually concludes with a tagline for the Honest Girl Scouts site, which describes itself as a group "concerned with the alarming choices GSUSA has been making," and "advocating for a change back to simply building girls of good character."
Last fall's decision to admit Bobby Montoya after initially excluding her has already been met with considerable controversy. In December, three Louisiana-based leaders resigned and dissolved their troops in the wake of the incident, with one calling it "an almost dangerous situation" for children, according to The Baptist Press.
At the time, the Girl Scouts of Colorado released a statement through the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), noting, "If a child identifies as a girl and the child's family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout."
After confessing to having difficulty switching from male to female pronouns when discussing her child, Montoya's mother Felisha Archuleta defended her daughter to ABC, saying, "I believe he was born in the wrong body...no one would know he's a boy unless they pulled his pants down."

AMERICA
but seriously Girl Scouts? Seriously. Does it even matter...?
Fuck that bitch. What the fuck, honestly.
Isn't that kind've sexist?
Teaching them to be hateful at an early age I see.
she should be the one kicked out for being an asshole
Arent the girl/boy scouts very very anti gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender?
That girl scout can go fuck herself. Just because of that, I'm going to buy some girl scout cookies even though I hate them
What an ass
What is she like 12? Who cares? If this was a leader or something I guess it might be different, even though it's pretty obvious this might happen because they are affiliated with religion.

Girl scouts not as much.
I'm still gonna buy me some cookies.
I wanna see her say this to the transgender's face, and see if she has the balls. It's easy to talk shit like this when you're not seeing how it affects people.
I'm glad Girl Scouts decided to do this. Honestly, a much better organization than Boy Scouts. BS just taught me that boys were supposed to be macho men and being gay is wrong and you have to be Christian and sell popcorn to old ladies. My sister used to got to Girl Scouts, and it was so much better, plus the cookies are delicious.
Fuck people who hate transgenders.

strange, boy scouts just taught me to tie knots and do soap box races

I live in Texas and our troop leader was an old man.

I guess you went to a different Boy Scouts than everyone else because the one in question really is incredibly conservative
I'll still buy their cookies
Know what? I think I'm in the mood to buy lots of Girl Scout cookies.
I hate how she says "Transgendered boys" in her videos. It's incredibly rude and pretty much an insult (to most) to refer a transgendered person by their biological sex.
I've heard a lot of shit about boy/girl scout leaders being assholes and not accepting gay scout leaders.
This made me so fucking angry holy balls. This is fucking STUPID god DAMN
But then again this is the girl scouts, and all of the scout organizations are run by bigoted douche-nozzles.

Something tells me that she isn't especially troubled by committing this particular breech of etiquette.

Not officially. I don't know about the Girl Scouts, but the the BSA is very conservative as an organization... not that most of the individual troops care.
[editline]x[/editline]
It all depends on the locale. New England? Probably not a big deal. Mississippi? I wouldn't be surprised if you had problems. The BSA isn't very centralized. Troops are fairly independent.

A troop leader in my old scout group was kicked for being gay. But I've only seen rules against homosexuals in leadership rules, never seen anything to do with actual members.
They also prohibit atheists and agnostics from joining. :v:
she should be the one kicked out for being an asshole
that would be hilarious and fantastic
if I was american I'd make a point of buying twice as many cookies as I normally do
someone tell her that they will donate 10$ for every cookie she doesn't buy to them
The thing with the boy scouts is you have to account for individual troops, yeah. The organization as a whole officialy bars gays and nonreligos, but I know an atheist eagle scout who just never brought it up because nobody in the troop or the local council cared.
And then you get the church based troops. like seriously all those mormons.
Bitch nothing stands in the way of my thin mints.

Depends on the chapter

Like mine met in a church but I don't think anyone gave a hoot
Straight, gay, or transgender, those Thin Mints are fucking incredible.
