• GTA San Andreas explosion crashes

Title pretty much sums it up. Whenever something explodes (generally cars), the game crashes to desktop with the usual "GTA:SA has stopped working" message. I used to run it fine on the non-steam retail version, but it's been the Steam version that's been acting up for me. System specs, even though I far exceed them: AMD Athlon X2 3800+ 2.0ghz 4GB RAM nvidia Geforce GTX 460 1GB oodles of hard drive space.
Have you tried verifying the game contents?
All files successfully validated, no issues.
Are all your drivers up to date?
Are all your drivers up to date?
Just updated drivers, still crashes on explosions. Also, now I can't move the camera while in a car. Other odd thing: My screen's native resolution (1440x1050) is supported by GTA, but only in 16-bit mode. I have to run it in 1280x1024 to get 32-bit.
Contacted Rockstar several days ago, no response. :saddowns:
I'd find a forum dedicated to San Andreas, and have a look around there.
