The NSFW film, titled "Initiatiøn," was filmed as a feminist statement exploring "the rituals of American Ivy League secret societies, to the point of hysteria, highlighting our culture's perception of female desire,” according to an article published on Gawker. It begins with a group of girls sitting around a library table taking their shirts off. As the film progresses, the girls engage in activities including kissing, rubbing eggs on their bodies and twerking around chicken carcass.
"Porno" link I dont Even...
They had to be on something making that film.

'I KNOW! LET'S TWERK AROUND A DEAD CHICKEN"
rubbing eggs on their bodies and twerking around chicken carcass.
That's not a feminist statement, that's just a new HowToBasic video.
this is clearly an art performance piece and not a 'feminist porno'. easy to see how it would go over everyone's head though
wat. "How do we stop gender tension?" 'I KNOW! LET'S TWERK AROUND A DEAD CHICKEN"
this is not an act of 'attempting to stop gender tension' did you even look at the website?
Initiation explores the rituals of American Ivy League secret societies, to the point of hysteria, highlighting our culture's perception of female desire.
I can see the satire behind poking fun at initiation ceremonies in college fraternities (they are largely silly and bizarre and convoluted to ensure group cohesion), although I don't see where the "fight Gender Tension" comes from. The symbolism of the eggs and the chicken escapes me, but I suspect they are related.

Also, how in the hell is this art?
I am so jealous of that chicken.
I am so jealous of that chicken.
The thing is a dead pile of meat just in case you didn't know [editline]g[/editline] Unless that's your thing [editline]a[/editline] Which is pretty hot.
yeah, that's what a gawker article says lol. and how in the hell isn't it art?
Don't get me wrong. The everything is art approach is cool and noble and stuff. But it's pretentious as fucking hell and you can jam your jackson pollocks up your ass.
I hope they didn't have any open wounds, that sounded really unhygienic.
Don't get me wrong. The everything is art approach is cool and noble and stuff. But it's pretentious as fucking hell and you can jam your jackson pollocks up your ass.
this is specifically intended as an art piece though, it's painfully obvious. i've seen more provocative pieces at massive mainstream galleries like the tate before, however i guess you have your own idea of what art is (though i'd love to know what it is).
this is not an act of 'attempting to stop gender tension' did you even look at the website?

While Young has "never experienced a sorority or fraternity," she is intrigued by them, and this video is a projection of that fascination. Moreover, of course, it is a feminist statement, meant to "showcase the ultimate hysteria state," and speak to the stigmatization and fetishization of women. This fetishization is particularly prevalent at Columbia, Young explained. "You know—as a girl—there's definitely a weird gender tension," she told me.
her ivygate interview, it was in the news article
Well damn, looks like my campus is in dire need of some gender tension. EDIT: And since my college is in the south, they can rub pulled pork and barbecue sauce on themselves instead of eggs and chicken
yeah, that's what a gawker article says lol. and how in the hell isn't it art?
Name one reason why twerking over a dead animal and rubbing yourself in eggs is artistic. I understand that they're trying to make a statement, but if you want to be taken serious, this isn't the way to do it. It makes your school look like a sideshow.

I think at a certain point of expressionism your message is lost. I also think that twerking around a dead chicken is an example of that point.
How could anyone take this seriously I started laughing early on
The original source that made any mention of 'feminism' being the point of the video was a citation to Gawker of all places (an awful click-bait source), and even though one of the producers made some comment about feminism, they said it was primarily about some fascination with fraternities and sororities. Calling it a 'feminist porno' is just disingenuous. This isn't news, and it isn't even reported correctly. [editline]4th February 2014[/editline] And, upon further inspection, the entire Campus Reform website is just made up of disingenuous articles about 'liberal colleges' restricting free speech or saying that the University of Chicago removed 88-year old pews to appease the Muslims.
