So a little while ago, I came home to turn on the computer but nothing would turn on.
I check the circuit box in the garage and see that its red so I flip the switch.
Then everything turned on but my computer. I tried plugging it into different outlets but no luck.
I assumed my power supply had blown out so I ordered a new one. Installed it and things started working again.
But now my computer will turn off at random times when I'm not using it and it takes a couple of tries to get it going again.
The cables are connected securely. I'm not sure what the problem is.
UPDATE:
Well I just bumped the power cord and my computer shut off. After some experimenting I've determined there must be some kind of crappy connection between then power supply and cord. The cord is
connected pretty well but if I wiggle it my computer shuts off some times.
Heat? What are your specs and how much ventilation do you have?
750w psu
4gb ram ddr2
nvidia 9500gt
intel core 2 quad 2.1ghz
Can't remember what motherboard I have, I bought it pre-built.
My previous psu was 400w but I was going to upgrade alot of my parts anyway which is why I got the 750w.
I have a fan in the back, the cpu has a fan, and the psu has the fan on the bottom.
Try another power cable for your psu....

Would make sense if that was the problem.
