• Getting 8 teeth removed and replaced with a partial sucks.

As of yesterday, I have 8 new "fake" teeth which are 'denture' like, or 'partials'. A good, 9-10 months ago, I was told I have intense gum disease that may lead to my teeth decaying quickly unless I take REALLY good care of them. As of respect, I tried to take care of them as much as I could for the time being, only to realize the disease had beaten me to it and 6 teeth in the front and 2 in the far back were already starting to decay no matter how much care I'd given them. Soon after being told about my gum disease, we attempted to get the few front teeth filled only for the caps to fall out later on, being completely meaningless. After this, they recommended we remove the teeth and replace them with partials. Which are practical dentures, but instead of a whole row of teeth, it's only a select few. Looks a little something like this, but mine have plastic clips instead of metal wires: Last week, we set up an appointment at an oral surgeon to have the follow teeth removed: (COLORED BLACK ARE THE ONES REMOVED) Reason being we set up an appointment with an oral surgeon instead of the regular dentist is because the oral surgeon is the only one who would put me to sleep for the surgery, while the dentist would only numb my gums which in turn would make me very sick since I'm slightly allergic to Novocaine. Even though the Oral Surgeon put Novocaine on my gums anyway, but not as much as the dentist would have. The appointment was set to be yesterday at 1:30 P.M. As of a great idea, I decided to take a before and after photo of my teeth before I went to get them removed: (PRETTY LARGE PHOTOS) BEFORE: AFTER: A humongous difference, right? In about an hour, I'm going back to the dentist to get them adjusted since the left clip doesn't seem to want to clip in, but that could be due to the intense amount of swelling in my gums. Being put to sleep and knowing you're about to have 8 teeth removed is a very very scary thought. And, it indeed, was scary as shit... But the oral surgeon was a hot 21 year old, which made it a little better; and I was tripping on Laughing Gas before they put the IV in me and I fell asleep... Everything is a huge blur, and all I can remember is them leaning over me for a few seconds before it went black again. To me, it felt like a good 15-20 seconds; when really the surgery lasted an hour and a half to 2 hours. After getting home, I was spitting up so much blood is splattered all over the sink of my bathroom, it looked like a real murder scene with the mass amount of blood coming from my mouth. To help with the pain, I was prescribed Percocete, and Vicodin. That, I do love. :v: The swelling won't go down until another 12-24 hours, and I'm still swallowing blood because I can taste it. Update: Just got back from the dentist who adjusted them a little. The back left now wants to sort of clip in like it's supposed to, and it feels more fitting. But, god damn, it feels so nasty and gross with them out because of my swollen gums. And it looks pretty funny too. I'd take a picture of me without them, but I was told to keep them in until Thursday or so before I can start taking them out every night to clean them and give my gums a rest. Later on, on Jan 11th, I should be getting them adjusted completely and form fitting after the swelling goes down. It doesn't look like it sucks.
You look a bit :downs:
It doesn't look like it sucks.
Looks? No, not at all. I love the way it looks. I just hate the way it feels.
Hah, the first picture reminded me of Austin Powers. :v:
Look better than your old teeth hehe, congratulations... I suppose.
Yeah, doesn't look like it, I know it hurts and shit but damn what a difference.
I would definitely prefer the way it looks in the last picture.
I would definitely prefer the way it looks in the last picture.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I fucking LOVE the way it looks so much.
Oh, wow. It looks like it must have been really sore before you got them removed, surely? Either way, it definitely looks a lot better.
is your name by any chance Tom?
Your fault for not looking after your teeth. I hope you take care of the rest...
Did you ever brush your teeth?
you look much better than before!
My dad's missing a tooth, he has to use one of these. Don't step on them, ever, they cost a ton to replace.
Your fault for not looking after your teeth. I hope you take care of the rest...
He had gum disease. He said he tried his best to keep them looking good. He couldn't help it.
You look like a monkey in the second picture, no offense. I'm also getting a shitload of teeth removed at the end of january. 6 teeth, and a jaw readjustment :( How exactly is it when you wake up? Like a surge of pain? Nausea? I'm scared shitless. My biggest concern is that i will be conscious the whole time, but unable to move or anything. My brother experienced that during a surgery years ago.
Did you ever brush your teeth?
Yeah man, how could you be so careless? :/
Your fault for not looking after your teeth. I hope you take care of the rest...
he has a disease thats like telling a cancer patient he shouldn't have had hereditary cancer did you even read the op?

And trust me, you won't be conscious at all. Unless they hit a nerve or something, forcing you awake for about 2 seconds before you get knocked out again. But after the numbing medicine wears off, yes, you will feel a great surge of pain. But they should give you medication for that. I was worried, nervous, scared shitless before it all too. But when you just get in there and do it, you won't regret it. It's a little hard to get used to the pain, and few days of suffering afterwords, but all-in-all, you'll be fine. Guaranteed. :)

Damn, that must be a pain getting used to. Hope it all works out.
Oh, wow. It looks like it must have been really sore before you got them removed, surely? Either way, it definitely looks a lot better.
Oh yes, very sore. And they still are. But yes, they do look a shitload better. I'm just glad that one tooth that's jutting outwards is gone. That's my biggest improvement.
I think I should of gone to the months ago. :v: I used to have a rather awesome old guy, I now have a young female dentist. :q:
I think I should of gone to the months ago. :v: I used to have a rather awesome old guy, I now have a young female dentist. :q:
Yeah, the oral surgeon was a chick. Good god, she was fineeee as fuck.
What is it with you people and your fetish for young female dentists looking in your mouth? YOU should enjoy looking THEM in the mouth, with your penis.
It's funny because they had to put sticky heart sensors on me, and she did it all. And after I was about to get knocked out I could've sworn I heard her say "He has a cute body for a young'n." Could've just been the laughing gas fucking with me. :v: Cause complimenting a 17 year old's body is unprofessional.
Yeah, the oral surgeon was a chick. Good god, she was fineeee as fuck.
My friend wants to be a dental hygienist, which is rather ironic as his hygiene is the worst I know. You'd most likely fancy him if you liked dudes, or were a chick.
I fucking hate going to the dentists.
Well, off to get them adjusted. Be back later with an update!
