Performance on server - Hard drives - Hardware specialists

I'm having my own "home server" which i use to host a server for playing with some friends. I was wondering about upgrade it a little bit, specifically the hard drives.
The server is running on a ASUS P8Z77V_PRO motherboard (Here are the specs: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z77V_PRO/ )
It has an integrated raid controller capable of controlling 2 disc's.
Now, i was wondering if i bought 2x7200 RPM 2TB Hard drives, and put them in raid 0 (Remember, this is only for speed. Backup is maintained via Veeam - The Garry's Mod server is running on a virtualized server) would it be faster than a single hard drive(Same specs as new disc's)?
Should i go for some special hard disc's, or does it matter? Is there anything else i should be aware of?
The server is(and will be) running in a Windows environment.
The server is not only used for Garry's Mod, therefor the large disc's.
Bonus question: Would I be able to use the other SATA ports on the motherboard and connect other hard disc's to the system and just use them as normal hard disc's aka getting more space.
Thanks in advance!

Yes.

Go for something SATA at 7200rpm with 64MB of cache. There ARE faster drives out there like the WD Raptor and Solid State Drives, but you pay a premium per Gigabyte.
