Well I screwed up, two nights ago I thought I should make kool-aid, but the cover got stuck, and upon pulling the cover off, I sprayed kool-aid everywhere.
And now my old saitek eclipse does not work any longer. I already tried letting it dry out and use alcohol to try and fix it.
What keyboard should I get? I want it to be very comfortable, good quality, and not have the keys ghost.
~75usd. The lower the better.
Within your price range, I'd go for a blackwidow. Rather 6Gv2 if you can afford it tho.
I don't find rubber dome keyboards to be worth the money, considering what a massive quality jump it is for the small amount of extra money you pay for a mechanical. Even the mx blues in the blackwidow are by far a lot better then any rubber dome switches.

Mechanical worth it?
Yes.
It's pretty good, takes a while to get used to though.
I doubt my opinion will be a popular one but the other day I got a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 for my desktop and it's truly an amazing set.
Great to type on, media controls, windows-specific controls, a whole bunch of cool shit. Only problem is that it's an F-lock keyboard, and the F1-12 keys are all in a line, not grouped into fours.
You don't need a new mouse but the mouse that comes with the set itsn't shitty and is a dream to use, and being cordless, well, it's smooth as shit. But you probably won't need it, and it's not a haptic scrollwheel (no clicks when you scroll, annoying in games.)
Long story short just go to a local Office Depot and scope out the ones they have there, they're fucking sweet.
I don't have a very good selection where I live now. So I am going to have to order it.
Its probably alright for that price, but that doesn't make it junk.
Its just like the mx518, with the only upside being that its piss cheap and great value for the money, but it isn't a fantastic mouse in comparison to some more expensive products.
I think that most people here would agree on a blackwidow or 6Gv2.
Logitech Illuminated.

Microsoft wireless desktops are horrid for gaming, and you do need a new mouse because if you hold a button (say W, for walking forward) and use the mouse at the same time, after a few seconds the letter will let go and you'll stop walking. I have the Wireless Desktop 5000, and 6000 I believe. They're pretty great but I would absolutely not recommend them to anyone planning on playing games.
I just got a blackwidow not to long ago to replace my old keyboard too. Dream to type on, I reccomend it.

Just bought a Blackwidow Ultimate on newegg and got a Razer Spectre (StarCraft 2) mouse free for 114.00, hoping I'll love it as much as everyone says they do.
Do not get a Logitech G15 or G19.
The screen might look nice, but it's pretty ricer.
I honestly haven't used the screen on my G19 in a few years.
I had a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 6000, it was pretty good for everything except gaming. The keys would just stop responding while I was holding them or they would stick down and I continually moved to the side or something. And it was a new one too, the keys themselves didn't stick, but it would continue to hold the key after I let it go.
Why is Mechanical better though? Is it just more durable in general?

they last for 5-10x as long and feel fucking awesome to type on.
You can order the Blackwidow "Stealth" from the Razer website. It has a similar feel, though the noise is reduced for the same price. I love my standard Blackwidow, though the noise is annoying at times.

How loud is it compared to others?
I dont even know why im suggesting this
HHKB version 2
Only $300 lol
£5 Dell keyboard. If you can stretch to £10, get one with media keys.
I have a Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard combo that I use on my desktop and laptop. Great range, I like it for gaming, and I like the ways the keys press. It was $80 or so.

And if you really want the screen, there's $15 LCD Smartie Kits on Ebay with the exact same functionality only it's not mounted to your keyboard
I've never had any issues as described with the Wireless Desktop series, it was probably a bad wireless connection.
either way like I said just go to Office Depot and try them out so you can at least get a feel for what style keyboard you like the most.
How loud is it compared to others?
My standard Blackwidow compared to a regular keyboard? Somewhat loud. It's more of a higher pitched clicking, like a mouse click. My guess is that the Blackwidow Stealth is using Cherry MX Brown keyswitches (The standard using the Cherry MX Blue switches).
I know someone who bought the Das Keyboard Professional Silent (Same keyswitches) and says it's barely louder than a standard keyboard, yet feels terrific.

I thought the mx518 was polular was because it is an amazing mouse, not because its cheap. Theres a reason it was the longest made mouse from logitech.

An optical sensor is better then laser for low sensitivity gaming. Also I never need a dpi more then 2000, so why do I need an 8000 dpi mouse with adjustable weights, grips, and bling. I could just get a nice kidney bean shape mouse that tracks great.
I'm rocking a G400 with my Deck Legend(Tactile), my G5v2 bit the bullet over the summer. I don't miss the adjustable weights.
My MX518 lasted maybe 6 months before the scrollwheel shat out whereas I used a MX310 before that for 2-3 years
Logitech just isn't that quality anymore IMO. Still alright, but their quality seems to be dropping off.
I use this: http://pckeyboards.stores.yahoo.net/en104bl.html
(black with metallic gray)
It feels pretty damn awesome to type on, uses buckling spring and makes a hell of a racket.
Standard Dell keyboard and a logitech Mx518 is all you will ever need. Had these for about 5 years.
I have the Logitech G510 and I can tell you that the LCD screen is incredibly useful and time saving. There's a single applet for it called LCD SirReal that displays upload/download speed, date, time, volume, cpu/ram load, and shows when an application is not responding. It's really useful because I have all this information whenever I need it even if I'm playing a game or whatever.
The g15/510 displays are useful, but mechanical switches still over weigh them. Its a shame that you can't have both (yet).
