I feel bad for the pilots, retards shining lasers at aircraft cockpits should go to jail.
And that only in the UK
I feel bad for the pilots, retards shining lasers at aircraft cockpits should go to jail.
afaik they do, it's just hard to catch them and prove they did it
Remind me of some teenagers who shined a laser at a helicopter, turned out to be an apache and the police were at their door within 10 minutes.

"In a worst case scenario crew members struck in the eye can suffer eye damage - that happened recently to an observation officer in Ripley who suffered retina damage after being hit with the laser whilst looking through binoculars."
I don't understand why people think this is funny or even remotely a good idea for ANY reason. Living right smack dab next to one of the (I think) busiest air force bases in America, Wright Patterson, my house is right under their regular flight path. Sometimes at night I see assholes with super bright green lasers trying to point them right into the cockpits of massive C-17s flying over. It's a real fucking plague. Why do people do this???

It's going to come down to someone shining a laser and blasting a pilot's eyes and somehow causing the plane to crash to get people to stop.
Honestly, pointing lasers at moving aircraft should fall in line with contempt to commit murder/manslaughter. The fact you are pointing something at a fucking aircraft which can screw the pilots vision, while the aircraft is carrying possibly upwards of 100+ people, is not excusable as some stupid joke. You are putting people's lives at risk in doing so by making it harder for the pilots to safely fly the aircraft.
Theres a certain FP'r who thinks it's a load of shit made up and that it's not dangerous
What?
Imagine being stupid enough that you think shining a laser at aircraft pilots is a funny thing to do. Totally could not end in a really big accident where loads of people could die or anything, right? :goodjob:
Theres a certain FP'r who thinks it's a load of shit made up and that it's not dangerous
Jesus Christ, what? Who the hell could be THAT dense?
Theres a certain FP'r who thinks it's a load of shit made up and that it's not dangerous
On the other hand, I believe that at least 10 think that if a pilot gets blinded by the laser, he will yank the stick to the side like a maniac and crash the plane into the ground
On the other hand, I believe that at least 10 think that if a pilot gets blinded by the laser, he will yank the stick to the side like a maniac and crash the plane into the ground
found the certain FP'r
On the other hand, I believe that at least 10 think that if a pilot gets blinded by the laser, he will yank the stick to the side like a maniac and crash the plane into the ground
The laser doesn't "Hit the pilot", the laser spreads out as it travels. By the time it reaches the aircraft it has spread to the point where it can cover the entire canopy making it impossible to see. Shining lasers at aircraft is a criminal offence in most countries and rightfully so.
On the other hand, I believe that at least 10 think that if a pilot gets blinded by the laser, he will yank the stick to the side like a maniac and crash the plane into the ground
Vision is incredibly important to a pilot, flying on instruments alone with a giant green glow blinding the cockpit is a nightmare for any helicopter pilot regardless of experience.
