• Choosing parts for my build

I'm going to be honest, I'm not as good with computers as I would like to think. I'd definitely appreciate your guys' help on this one. Today I tried to run PlanetSide 2 for the first time only to get massive frame rate lag; even on the lowest settings my computer can't handle this game. I immediately thought 'Hell, looks like it's time for a new computer' I lurked through this section for a bit and tried this PC Part Picker thing, but I'm not feeling too confident. I don't know too much about the compatibility of parts or even what some stats mean for certain parts. (If I didn't know I just assumed the higher the number the better) PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i7-2700K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($289.99 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($28.98 @ NCIX US) Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($134.99 @ Microcenter) Memory: Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($42.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($88.98 @ Newegg) Video Card: Diamond Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card ($399.99 @ Microcenter) Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.49 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: OCZ 600W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($44.99 @ Newegg) Total: $1077.30 (Prices include shipping and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2012-08-26 00:46 EDT-0400) This is what I got on my own.
