So i'm getting a AMD Athlon X4 860K with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
i wanna know how many GHz i can overclock it to with this CPU Cooler?
and if so how? :D thx
Definitely like all of the ghz
not many
if any
The 860k actually clocks pretty well even with a 212 EVO. Makes it very competitive to high end i3's.
its still nothing to those i5 builds we keep on recommending.......
and it's also nothing to a 4690k in terms of actual performance......
Well yeah but the 860k is 70 bucks.
I have one for my HTPC. On the stock cooler it runs a little hot and with a Hyper 212 around 4.5 is as high as it'll go.
The G3258 is still better overall for gaming though for a stock build but if you have an AM2+ board lying around the 860k is pretty solid even without an OC.

FM2+ actually, and the G3258 really depends on the game. But any of those options are still far outclassed by a low end i5, which we've recommended him before.

my mistake, yeah. Also, the G3258 pretty much consistently outperforms the 860K in most games.
but back in his previous threads he mentioned he had a $500 budget
where i made this if he could push another 70

this is literally the better build/better way to go with his budget
i dont think he's going to listen to it either and his games are going to suffer quite a bit too
I've listened the thing is i don't have a extra $70 dollars just lying around and probably wont have anymore money for a good 3 months after i buy this PC ;-;
