overnight download? that's a fucking week-long dl for me holy shit
Times like these is when I love being in college. I downloaded Titanfall on my college's internet in like an hour. This should take maybe ~1.5 hours (if I was going to buy the game).
I seriously fail to understand what necessitates that 55 gb size. Plus 6 gbs of ram, really?
It looks like it's the Ghosts engine (probably modified), hopefully it doesn't run like shit at launch. If you're interested in this though you're better off getting it on a console (that's something I never thought I would say for an fps), Ghosts died so quickly on PC and I bet this will be pretty similar.
I seriously fail to understand what necessitates that 55 gb size. Plus 6 gbs of ram, really?
Pre-rendered Cutscenes, Metal Gear Risng has 21gb of them Given how nice the trailer looked, and how they were talking about how "cinematic" it's going to be, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same deal
Didn't Ghosts have a 6GB requirement that turned out to be bullshit?
Didn't Ghosts have a 6GB requirement that turned out to be bullshit?
Yeah. A bunch of people who were messing around with the game found out that you only really needed about two to four gigs or ram instead of the six that the game apparently demanded. Someone made an unofficial patch however that drops the 6gb ram requirement and drops it to 4gb. Oh boy, something tells me this game is going to be just like Ghosts tech-wise. Runs like crap on consoles, runs ok-ish on PCs that met its stupidly high requirements (because lower end PCs are the same as consoles - guess what happens then)
55gb ? I remember having a HDD big as that
Looks to me more like they did a lazy job on the compression.
Aren't these requirements a lot lower than the last CoD? And wasn't the last CoD's bullshit anyway? They've been copy pasting so long I doubt they know what will and won't run it
That picture looks like he's modeled after Redeye.

God forbid they should try to fit more CONTENT on the disc.
I seriously fail to understand what necessitates that 55 gb size. Plus 6 gbs of ram, really?
Kevin Spaceys face has so many vertices from wrinkles and HD textures it takes up 34GB of space
i hope they aren't mallocing memory they don't use like ghosts
probably those gb's contain the other iterations and its left unused lol fucking get a new engine jesus.
"Hard Drive Spacey" Noice.
some devs realized they don't have to do compression so they got lazy i really hate this new trend
some devs realized they don't have to do compression so they got lazy i really hate this new trend
It's because they're going to use a disk regardless, but I do have to wonder, how much of this gets installed to consoles?
Maybe the reason why it takes so much space is because of their new revamped fish AI.
It's not a compression issue, we'll probably be having a lot of video cutscenes (which I personally fucking hate, because we always had in engine cutscenes in COD, but too bad, gotta utilize all that "next gen" console hardware). That or they're as dumb as Titanfall devs and included all languages in the DL package.
If Robert Englund wasn't enough to get me into call of duty, nothing is.
Remember when CD ROMS were the new thing? Sega CD, 3DO? All that new space and they struggled to fill it, so they used live action video a lot to do it. Then games became too big for the medium so they had to compress and be wise about it, and use multiple discs. Now once again the medium is larger than is required and they're doing it again. The problem with it is if it's cutscenes and audio for them, no big deal. But if it's actual game content, it's a really big deal because it's going to eat up RAM, it's going to make you say 'God damnit' every time you hit a loading screen, and it's unnecessarily eating up HDD space, or even more valuable SSD space if you want to avoid the long load times on account of it
That would take me weeks to download. I can't stay on my Windows account because other people in my household use the computer when I'm not on.
Come the fuck on, Literally all the games I've purchased lately have been 30gb+. I'm sitting with Dead Rising 3, Shadow of Mordor, NBA2k and Evil Within on one hard drive taking up 150GB of fucking space. That's way too much space spent on video games that I'm still currently playing through. Do they not realize not compressing the game is harming their sales a lot?
