It won't take much longer before you can get a taste of Halo 5 on your PC. Microsoft and 343 Industries have revealed that Halo 5: Forge, the multiplayer level creation experience, will reach Windows 10 on September 8th. As mentioned earlier, it's all about playing multiplayer matches, primarily on custom maps created either on the PC or the Xbox One. You won't get the single-player campaign (possibly a good thing). You do get the perks of playing on more flexible hardware, though, such as support for 4K displays and a interface that takes advantage of finer-grained mouse and keyboard controls.
cant wait to try this on my 1060, personally
I'm pretty sure this is Microsoft testing the waters to see if Halo will be successful on Windows 10 and if it is, it's more than likely Halo 6 will be on PC too, which I personally think is a great thing.
This is a Windows store download right? I might pick it up if the performance is good and try out some of the maps. I really enjoyed playing Halo 4 (though I preferred Reach because of a more-arena style gameplay) so I'm definitely interested in playing Halo 5's multiplayer.
I just wish Microsoft did the smart thing and released the Master Chief Collection on PC with all the previous games from the series in it. They'd make a killing, and probably convince more people to go to Windows 10, IMO.
All these years and all these "tests" on the PC market and all I want is Halo 3

It's bound to happen within the next few years imo, the 10 year anniversary is soon after all

I hear Halo 1 and 2 10 year anniversary editions on PC were a great success.

What are you talking about? There are no Anniversary games on PC. Halo 1 came out on PC well over a decade ago and Halo 2 came out on PC 9 years ago.

AntonioR was being sarcastic.
I haven't played any Halo games since Reach, stopped having interest, but if 3 came out on PC I would play the holy shit out of it.

How MS keep saying all their games are going to have a PC port, and Halo 3 Anniversary is most likely going to happen since how many sales it had, its most likely going to happen.

You probably know of it already, but ElDewrito could be partially what you are looking for.

That was before they started looking at windows 10 as a platform for the halo series.

dont say that we'll get invaded again for supporting eldorito
It will never happen, but if they re-released the Halo 1 PC port on steam, I would buy it in a heartbeat. 8 player LAN on Blood Gulch at my friend's bachelor party was possibly the most fun multiplayer has ever been to me, in any video game.
they're also launching a halo hub app it seems, kinda like forza/gow?

As we were working on Halo 5: Forge for Windows 10 PCs, we asked ourselves, “how can we do more to bring the Halo ecosystem closer to our fans on PCs?” and “how can we do more to open the door now and in the future for our PC gamers?” The Halo app will be the quickest and easiest way to find, download, and launch all Halo games that are available on Windows PCs. It will also be a great way to get the latest news, videos, tutorials, featured content, update notes and more from the Halo universe on your PC. Our vision is for the Halo app to become the best way for our fans to get the latest information and details about all of our games, both past, present, and future.

In my freshman year of high school, a little infection called the trial version of Halo 1 was uploaded onto the school's network by some unknown person. It spread like wildfire and people kept sneaking into the library to play it when they could, I even got in trouble for it myself in a typing class I had no interest in back then. Huge LAN games across the school in the morning hours, and I was pretty much the magnum king that outsniped folks all the time. Someone even messed with us a few times and made matches that had every shot be explosive.
Will this include custom games like the good ol' days of Halo 3? I get nostalgic thinking about classics such as this gem:

Unrelated but I remember for the end of term our school ran a bunch of different activities for people, from a trip to a theme park to arts n' crafts, but the one I went to was basically where they set up all the computers in the IT suite so you could pick between playing Doom II or Quake III Arena and play against each other on the school's LAN, was fun as hell.
Of course after that a few other people realised that both games were still installed on the system and kept playing them during lessons in the following year so eventually they took it off but y'know, was fun whilst it lasted.
to answer your first question, yes
Literally no reason to play it on the Xbox One now.
If you don't care about matchmaking or Warzone/Firefight then sure.

Campaign and the full multiplayer experience.

We still do not know how forge multiplayer is going to work out on PC, it might be very limited.
It's just custom games and Forge in full.
It's just custom games and Forge in full.
Pretty much all I played.
Campaign and the full multiplayer experience.
"campaign"
Ah yes because Halo 5 is known for it's amazing campaign right?
If you don't care about matchmaking or Warzone/Firefight then sure.
Endless forge maps could easily make up for that and custom games have always been one of the best parts of Halo. Hell it's all I really did in Halo: CE (I know), Halo 2 (well modded maps in that one) and Halo 3 as well as Reach.

I mean, you haven't exactly countered his point. I'm aware the campaign is not great but it's still something we won't be getting on PC, so if you have any interest in single-player Halo, Halo 5: Forge won't interest you.
You are not getting the full Halo 5 experience which includes the campaign + online co-op and all the other parts of Halo 5 functionality including the other multiplayer modes.
If you find this to be entirely fine for you, that is great and I hope when this releases you have a lot of fun. But now we're getting into a debate about the game itself and objectively? You are getting one slice of a whole pie. A free slice, but still a slice. Some of us only want one slice and some of us want the entire pie.

I mean, if you care for the story, it's awful. If you care for just playing through a campaign, it's only the end that's awful with the reused boss over and over and over - apparently it's a fairly solid campaign in terms of gameplay otherwise.
