ICP suit against FBI thrown out; Juggalos are considered a gang
A judge has thrown out Insane Clown Posse’s lawsuit against the FBI, saying the government has every right to categorize the band’s fans as gang members. The suit stemmed from a 2011 report that the law enforcement organization had tagged Juggalos as a “loosely organized hybrid gang”
That's, uh... kinda their job, guys. If you didn't want this to happen, maybe you should have been more careful about what messages you sent out.
lmao
But their message is about friendship, acceptance andMURDERING MAH MOM WID A HATCHET CUZ SHE SAID I COULDN'T HAVE IT, BITCH!
I hate ICP to fucking death, but just because a bunch of their fans may not be of intellectual equality doesn't mean they should be labeled as a gang. That'd be like labeling my little pony fans as terrorist.
Psychopatic Records will “keep fighting to clear the Juggalo family name.”
good luck with that

If MLP fans started publishing songs about being hardass gangsters and killing cops while being high off their ass then they'd probably also end up on FBI's records as a gang.
good luck with that
Heracles shot an arrow at the sun and Helios respected his courage and rewarded him for it. But I think these guys will just further humiliate themselves.
[was uninformed]
Not to come to their defense, but are you really saying ICP is the only music group to write such lyrics? ICP doesn't come close to some of the crap out there. Hard to be scared of a "gang" that (earnestly) wrote a "song" about the wonders of magnets.
Other bands write about this stuff, but ICP actually galvanizes their fans and literally encourages them to actually carry out this behavior. It goes beyond just "Hey, its just music." to "Hey, its just promoting violence and vandalism."

Wouldn't have known, thanks.
I feel that this is relevant:

Never in my entire life have I met someone that likes ICP, everyone says the same; "Who the fuck are they?"
Can we classify Bronies as a gang now too?
Can we classify Bronies as a gang now too?
I'd classify bronies who take things as far as gang-level juggalos as a number of things
Aren't juggalos like a 2008 thing.
Juggalos are a huge problem in my area. They consider all other juggalos 'family', smoke, and fuck each other. All this the meanwhile carrying out threats to anyone who isn't their 'family'. The few murders and assaults in my area is from them, and I've gotten stabbed by one before.
My childhood best friend turned in to a British juggalo at some point down the line, and I talked to him about it. He doesn't think that they spread violence, he sees it as a 'non-religious religion', like a code to life or something.
I don't understand why their fans are wrecking cars and shit if that's true though, unless the code to life is 'destroy everything'
So, after "Miracles" (fuckin magnets) came out, they made a little bit of noise about how they were supposedly stealth Christians who had been working in deep cover for over a decade trying to gather up the lost kids (exactly the crowd who become juggalos) before eventually pulling off the mask and trying to hand them over to Jesus or whatever.
Did this go anywhere, or were they just bullshitting the interviewer to see if they could get them to publish it? :v:
Did a brony V Juggalo street fight ever happen?
So this is a gang of people who put on clown makeup and blindly follow the orders of a clown with a strange sense of humor?
ICP confirmed Joker

It wasn't really secret, there's been a fuckton of christian symbolism in pretty much all of their albums, next to the 50 songs about murder.

Even in the song were they "revealed all" they say "What did you think we were talking about when we mentioned Shang-Ri-La"(or something like that) it was obviously Heaven
Well, their unorthodox Christian youth group is now officially considered a gang.
Good job, guys.
I was curious about that, but I wasn't so curious as to expose myself to their entire discography and so on to research for myself, so thanks for the info. :v:

I took a different route then you, but just with a few albums. You made a pretty good choice even though occasionally they have a good song.
Considering the article says:
U.S. District Judge Robert Cleland dismissed the latest lawsuit because the FBI’s report on gangs “does not recommend any particular course of action for local law enforcement to follow.” Meaning that, just because the FBI report calls the Juggalos—or anyone else—a gang, it doesn’t meant it’s necessarily trying to crack down on them.
The FBI probably has a big listing of "gangs" based on their threat level. I would imagine Juggalos are categorized somewhere between "mostly harmless" and "too stupid to organize".
For a while I figured this would be a slippery slope to branding other music subcultures as gangs but then I remembered that gangs require social interaction so this'll never happen with metal
