Sup technical support.
Basically, dating a few months back my mouse would randomly start disconnecting and I would get a "USB device not recognized" and I am forced to reconnect the mouse manually which normally takes a couple attempts. I should note these are cheap $10 mice, but seeing how they have worked fine on other computers and not my own, the computer seems to be the blame.
What I've tried to fix is this.
-Used different mouse
-Used existing mouse on different computer (worked just fine)
-Downloaded all the updates in Windows Update (Windows 7 Home)
-Different USB ports
-Uninstalling and reinstalling a mouse through device manager
This is a tricky thing to google for, as most people's problem when they get this error is that their device is broken and they need to get this replaced. Which is why I have come to you fine gentlemen (or gentlewomen) for help in my quarrel.

Update your motherboard firmware. This usually requires flashing, so make sure you read up on it.

Oh shit, the scaredy cat in me really doesn't want to flash it, but I will look into it. So thanks.
There's almost literally no risk as long as you don't turn off the computer while it's flashing.
