I'm probably somewhat late with this, but whatever. I thought it was an interesting listen, and I never really noticed how influential this loop was.

From the video description:
This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures. Nate Harrison's 2004 video is a meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip.
I have Amen, Brother on my iPod purely because of the drum beat. It's fucking amazing.
This is a pretty kickass break for use in Hip-Hop

Straight outta compton is probably one of my favorite examples of that
I played this break on the drums, pretty sweet
I learned about this last week, after watching the 20 minute video on YouTube. I particularly love it in DnB.
I downloaded the song Amen Brother on iTunes, and it's from a 'breaks and samples' album and the drum beat has been significantly slowed down, for Hip-Hop producers. It sounds shit. Don't buy it off iTunes.
Oh, and this beat is the best ever.
