C&C would be very appreciated! Better one IMO Second
First: Cool intro, if someone had to guess what genre it was by the beginning, I think people would say dance/techno. I personally hate long non bass intro's, unless it's like 30 seconds, maybe put a little bass line under the intro? Your intro is 50 seconds until the good stuff sets in. Not the standard wobble, I like it. This sounds stupid, but for my tastes, needs more bass! The Forest Gump and the rap was a nice touch. I like your style near the end, sort of techno/dubstep, I thought from 3:20 to the end, the melody and the wobble was interfering with each other fighting for room in the sound, i'd balance it out a little bit more. Second: Awesome intro, I was intrigued the second it started, it's mysteriousssss... Overall that one was ok, pretty steady, some good breaks. I thought it could've ended a bit better. Edit: these are my opinions, I would never be able to actually make my own dubstep. But I love listening to it.
Quite nice actually.
No worries, dude. Your opinions are always welcome! Thanks for the listen, guys.
makes me want to dance...thats a good thing i guess
Schism.....I've heard that name before. You wouldn't happen to have written .MOD or .IT files, would you? [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] Oh wait. Bad reading. That's the song's name.
Haha, sorry for the confusion.
Very nice well done.
Intro is amazing. +1 Nice song make more!
Next time when you make a song (or a few), post them here instead: http://www.facepunch.com/forums/315-Musician-s-Gig-Room
I prefer the first one, good variety of sounds and samples but the second one ended too abruptly. [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] Downloaded the first one aswell
Thanks guys! I really appreciate the critisism!
Aha, I have the same sweep used in Schism at 0:50. Schism was okay. The intro was pretty bland to say it was 50 seconds long, and the drop sounded rushed and weak. The bass sound was pretty solid but you need to back it up with some sub bass. What must be done was by far the worst of the two. Yet again the intro was pretty boring, however the drop was pretty well executed and didn't conflict as much as the last. The bassline really annoyed me, I had to to turn the song off halfway through. You have solid lead but there is a second bassline conflicting with the key and the rhythm of the lead and it doesn't fit at all. Actually I continued listening and I remember one of the bass loops used in the background from looperman.com. I know it's royalty free but it doesn't fit at all. And I despise unoriginality.
Thanks for the honesty!
Why in the first one do I hear a sped up version of a part from Excision? 2:17 - 3:08 Nevermind, read the the part at the bottom of the description. Should include that in the Facepunch post.

First one: I think it would have been cool if you could build up some tension before the bassline drops. And in both of your songs you may want to have some more variation in the basslines. Second: Great breakdowns and stuff. A little booring in the length, but sounds really cool.
Yeah, I agree. Thanks for the listen though!
Love it.
Thanks, man. I appreciate it!
First one was good, I liked the dynamic feel to it. Only issues were that the into was just too long and some of the sweeps are WAYYYY too loud and distracting.
I feel the Forest Gump bit is a bit too long. it kind of pulls you out, maybe snip that a bit. Maybe just have it up to box of chocolates instead of the whole thing.
Noted. Thanks, guys.
Sorry, just realized the forrest gump part goes with the whole "IN THIS CASE..." Sorry about that, I still feel it's too long, but it's nice they go together.
No worries dude, and yes I agree it's a tad long. Thanks, though.
