• New Build - Won't turn on.

Sorry for using incorrect terminology, I'm new to this. This is my first time building a computer, and I've put everything together and everything appears to be in the right place, but the power button does nothing at all. A green light comes on the motherboard, but again, the power button does absolutely nothing and the computer doesn't boot, the CPU fan doesn't spin, etc, I'm just stuck with a motherboard with green light. Any idea what's wrong? I've blown a lot of money on these parts, I'm on an extremely low budget, and I really do not feel like replacing any of them, so I'm really hoping that's my last resort. My specs: Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 PSU: Rosewill RD450-2SB 450W (Yes, this PSU definitely works, I took it out of another computer that was functional a day before today and I know it works) GPU: EVGA GTX 650 Ti (Also definitely worked previously) Mobo: ASUS P8B75-M/CSM 8GB DDR3 Ram (does this matter?) CPU: Intel i5 3570k 3.4ghz Thanks in advance.
have you plugged the front panel things into the headers on the motherboard, still the hardest/most annoying/most painful (fuck those little plugs) thing for building a pc for me is plugging in stuff like the front panel power, reset, power LEDs, stuff like that, if it's your first build I imagine that might be pretty easy to overlook
Originally I had plugged them into the wrong place, it was like a COM port or something, and I figured that was the problem, but after moving them to the correct place, the system still doesn't respond to the button. They're in the right place, I think. I'm not completely sure if they're facing the right direction, if that matters. The text is facing outwards on each of them, and the positives/negatives I hooked up to the right place based on the manual.
for me the text on the connectors faces up (when standing), but that could be totally different per case (really not sure), MAYBE your case is faulty but i'd guess that's pretty unlikely, im not really sure what it could be, if the psu and all it's cables are the same then im not totally sure, maybe something is shorting out the motherboard/at least making it not boot for some reason? a piece of metal touching the back of the mobo? im not 100% in the know on that sort of thing but someone with a little more knowledge might be some help on that
The power front panel part can't be backwards, because it's just a jumper. It Will work either way. What you can do is take a flathead and jump the two pins that it normally plugs into and see if that turns it on
I think I forgot the standoffs underneath the mobo. I don't know if this will fix the problem or not, but I do know it has to be fixed, so.
They have to be there. You may have fried the mobo.

Turns out I didn't fry anything. I installed the standoffs and reinstalled the motherboard (correctly) and everything's working fine, in fact, I'm posting this from the computer now. Thanks everyone. Happy holidays.
