I recently downloaded GTA 5 and played it for several hours with no problem what so ever before it just started crashing a few seconds after I launched it to a error gfx d3d message. Apparently it has something to do with your card being overclocked. Not wanting to mess with it I started up BF4 only for it to crash immediately and presented me with a message saying my graphics card was missing or that my drivers had failed. At this point I am thinking of re installing my graphics drivers considering I had just updated it about the day before and had also received about two alerts saying my drivers had crashed but had been fixed through windows. I was not playing any games at the time, just browsing the web. Hoping for a quick fix to my problems I restart my computer, and it worked. I have had no further problems what so ever.
The reason I am posting this is It's got me a bit worried there might be something wrong with my GTX 980. Should I look into this a bit more or do flukes like this just happen?
Driver updates can make the driver a bit unstable.
If it isn't happening anymore after restarting or re-installing the drivers it's not really anything to worry about.
Don't overclock too much though if you plan for slight overclock. Update/Reinstall the right drivers you needed to play the game.
