• Religious circumcision of kids now a crime says Germany
A German court has ruled that parents can’t have their sons circumcised on religious grounds in a move which has angered Muslim and Jewish groups in the country. *The court in Cologne decided that a legal guardian’s authority over a child does not allow them to subject them to the procedure, which the court called minor bodily harm, reports The Financial Times Deutschland. Neither does religious freedom, which is protected by law in Germany, give grounds for such decisions to be taken for the children, the ruling says. The court was considering a case against a Muslim doctor, who performed circumcision on a four-year-old boy at his parents’ request. Two days after the procedure bleeding started, after which the boy had to be taken to hospital. German authorities learned about the incident and launched a criminal investigation against the doctor. The initial court trial ruled that there was no violation of the law, but the prosecutor’s office took the case to the Cologne district court. The decision sets a precedent, which may affect medical practice across the country. The possible ban on circumcision provoked outrage among Jewish and Muslim organizations in Germany, where every year thousands of boys are circumcised in their early years at the request of parents. They regard the ban as a "serious interference in the right to freedom of religion." But none of the organizations so far has commented on the verdict, explaining they first need to study thoroughly the reasoning of the judges. Some experts however don’t rule out that the right for religiously motivated circumcision will be considered by the Federal Constitutional Court.
Source Obviously Germany is just being antisemitic... Seriously though, right move.
Excellent, no one's beliefs give them the right to mutilate their own child.
I'd say that's the right decision.

Finally, someone thought of the children (and their penises)
Excellent, no one's beliefs give them the right to mutilate their own child.
It's a useless and stupid procedure but it isn't "mutilation." I can still fuck, piss, and rub one off perfectly fine. Pretty sure removing a little sliver of skin doesn't leave people hideously disfigured.

I hope the rest of the European countries, and even the united states take the example.
OMG Germany why do you keep punishing the jews?
No, but it destroys sensitivity and is a useless procedure unless you have a medical condition that requires it.
Why would sensitivity be a problem. you would last longer in bed.
Germany - 1, Jews - 0. Fuck ye... wait, this sounds bad
Why would sensitivity be a problem. you would last longer in bed.
Good god have a bit of self control without resorting to numbing yo dick.
Why? This just seems really anti-semitic and unfair for jews. [editline]26th June 2012[/editline] ...not like jews dont have enough reasons to dislike germany
A circumcised penis is, contrary to common myth, not more hygienic. The head and urinal tract are left exposed for dirt and bacteria, and the risk for urinal tract infections is heightened, which can damage the kidneys.

[editline]26th June 2012[/editline] ...not like jews dont have enough reasons to dislike germany
Unfair to Jews? It's a decision that parents make for their children, a decision they should not be able to make, considering that what it removes is irreplaceable in terms of function. Circumcision for medical reasons is still legal, but forcing it onto children arbitrarily for religious reasons should not be (and now is not in Germany) legal.
Why would sensitivity be a problem. you would last longer in bed.
why do people say things like this. why do people worry about how long they last in bed? i don't want to be condescending but it's a very 'virginate' and unnecessary thing to worry about. it's better to last a short amount of time and enjoy it than be insensitive for an overly long period of time

I'm circumcised. What am I missing out on?!
Crap. I'm circumcised. What am I missing out on?!
apparently the circumcised penis is less sensitive because the way the foreskin moves during intercourse feels nice or something like that (there are a lot of sensitive nerve endings in the foreskin and also because the head of your dick is rubbing against your clothes all day everyday it will have lost sensitivity) but don't fret some people report they notice no difference pre and post circumcision
Crap. I'm circumcised. What am I missing out on?!
having a gross meatsock [editline]a[/editline] well at least some people have a sense of humor

Circumcision is a permanent body modification. It should only be performed on consenting adults (if it is not for a medical reason), as a small chieldren cannot voice their opinion on what should be done to his body. It is not a matter of religious freedom if that freedom infringes the freedom of choice of the child.
having a gross meatsock
more like having an extra pocket with you at all times i usually keep my phone and my wallet in my foreskin.
A strong step towards a less deformed world
Sadly, I think it's safe to assume it will still be done behind closed doors. Thank god (not really) I have mine. Mutilating anyone's body for religious reasons is wrong.
No, but it destroys sensitivity and is a useless procedure unless you have a medical condition that requires it.
Doesn't destroy sensitivity, reduces it slightly and some would say thats a plus.
Loving the uncut people calling cut people deformed or mutilated.
Here comes a giant debate about penis aesthetics from people who didn't choose what they're stuck with.
