I am thinking about buying some more RAM for my computer. I know what type I need and how to install it. The only thing I'm not sure of is if there is anything I have to do before I install it or can I just pop it in and nothing else is required.

Everybody knows you can't download RAM.
1.turn off the computer, unplug the old stuff (Or not, if you are just increasing the amount). Plug in the new stuff and you should be set.
2. Check it in your favorite CPU diagnostic program, if it isn't set to the right timings and speed, go into the bios and fix it, bumping up voltage if you get instability (keep below 1.65 on i5 and i7 systems, and make sure you don't let them overheat).
3. Reap the benefits of additional or faster RAM.
You need strong fingers to push the RAM in.
