Wow, all those features sound amazing. I might try this a little, or at least get an idea into these game engines.
Pre-ordering a game engine sounds funny to me. :v:
the ability to create games for Linux
Nice.

Dynamic shadows on Android/iOS sounds hella rad, I wonder how it's pulled off
Unity is an awesome engine that is totally underused. A good example is Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Kukze.jpg[/img_thumb] All done in browser through their plugin. I wish more people would develop for it.
glad it can deploy to linux. more platforms is always good.
That new animation system is awesome.
To be honest, I think I more interested in Unity 4 than the UDK. I don't know, I loved the Unreal Engine around the version 2.5, but now it's totally different.
i wonder if UDK will pursue linux support. that'd be pretty rad.
Whoever's filming that video seriously needs to work on their camerawork. :v:

Only real major flaw it has had is that it's super resource-heavy.
Truly, Age of the New Engines, this is.
actually that image manages to perfectly highlight all of the problems i have with unity
that's a pretty old iteration, like from late 2010
my problems with unity aren't really specific to any iteration, but i hope that they finally have managed to make it a decent competitor to other commonly licensed engines.
Have fun making everything yourself in Unity then :v:
Have fun making everything yourself in UDK as well then? :v:
I can't wait to make The Unstoppable Running Man. You live only to run and if you run into small obstacles your dude just deals with it. If you stop running you get a heart attack on the spot. The goal is not to stop running. How does this impact the daily lives of him and the people around him? What is he running from, or running to, OR RUNNING AROUND? The only way to find all the answers is to run to them.
Have fun making everything yourself in UDK as well then? :v:
Not really. UDK is built to be artist friendly so making content is a lot less involved. Look at the average content that comes out of unity users versus udk. ignore AAA works. Considering only visuals, it's easy to see just from a glance that UDK has so much over unity. Now I'm not saying Unity can't look good (it can) because it's not even an artist problem. It's numerous design and development problems.
