But the credibility of the military would skyrocket if the terrorist leader was in a convoy and suddenly gets fucking trick-shotted over the mountain range by some twitch streaming CSGO kid.
They should heavily consider doing this, young generation of gamers are able to better visual the 3D needed to achieve results.
Yeah, because I'd love to sit in front of a computer screen watching a video feed in a dark room all day. Then go home to sit in front of a computer screen playing a video game in a dark room all night.
edit:
Though, to be real, there's alot worse jobs out there. Wouldn't have to worry about fitness if you're in the military as they'd make sure you're taken care of in that aspect. Just hope you don't like too much facial hair.
Not exactly my dream job but it's still pretty fucking solid considering the pay and benefits and you don't even need a degree to get in.

I'm not exactly sure on the numbers but in the states here they really want drone pilots, and they want to retain them (As well as actual pilots) and are offering YUGE bonuses. They were doubling retention bonuses for pilots, and offering $35,000/year retention bonus to drone pilots. And these are on top of what they already make, which is pretty high as it is. And they like people with Flight Simulator experience from what I hear
It sounds like a pretty sweet gig, but people are quitting big time. I don't know why exactly. Maybe the connex crates aren't air conditioned, maybe guilt, who knows. I wouldn't quit a job that good
I could never do this because you need to be an expert fighter pilot to be even considered for piloting drones, and my eyes are so bad they permanently preclude me from becoming a pilot.

I think it's closer to the other way around, actually.
Shame you have to live with the fact you’re killing hundreds of people per year. Which is a really fucking strange thing “yeah i killed like 10 people at work today, can’t wait to relax and watch some Netflix later tonight”
This is so absurd. In the long run i am pretty sure it’d fuck me up.

On the contrary, they most likely need people with extremely good spatial reasoning and the ability to digest large amounts of visual information in a short space of time in order to make decisions, which are skills lifelong gamers are exceptional at compared to the average joe. The reason they like flightsim experience is probably because the piloting side of the drone boils down to be being the same as a game, albeit with infinitely more variables to deal with.
Pilots are different because they are physically driving the machine and are exerted all of the forces and a lot more stress, as well as having to have real world spacial awareness, amazing reactions, peak physical condition and good eyesight. On the flipside drone piloting you are far removed from the action and are only basing what you do on information that is fed to you through a few small screens and probably have heavy computer assistance.
The ethical implications are of course that turning it into a game risks it dehumanizing people potentially resulting in civilian casualties because at the end of the day they are all just blobs on a monitor.
I'd pick Ace Combat or Take On (x) or ARMA players.
