An interesting observation has been made while checking out EA's financial results. Whilst the PC arena has a hard time fighting the popularity of tablets their revenue (EA) for PC related game sales increased by a good 8 percent. In fact when you check out the graph right now the PC is doing much better then any console.
As techreport states: the graphs should be self-explanatory; it shows EA's net quarterly revenue over the past five years for each major gaming platform. As you can see, console numbers are subject to kind of a see-saw pattern, and PC figures have their ups and downs, too. Still, it's clear that EA's PC gaming business is growing. Also, especially over the past couple of years, EA's PC revenue looks very respectable compared to what the company makes from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Sorry if it's late, I couldn't find anyone else posting this.
Praise be to Razor!
With PS4 and Xbone running on x86 processors I expect this to keep rising because PC won't have shitty console ports
i find it amusing that pc gaming has maintained itself rather stable, while consoles fluctuate an awful lot.
you would think they would pay some more attention to the more stable market, instead of dissing as dead like some were.

Do you see how high those console spikes go? Do you also notice how they almost never fall below the PC even at the lowest drop?
You would never ever let go of that revenue.
The stability of the PC is what makes it seem dead, if it isn't really increasing or decreasing you're pretty much stuck with the same people, you don't see a potential to increase revenue there, whereas the consoles have huge spikes that means it's possible to sell a lot more in the times when they aren't spiking.

i didn't said to let go, simply for them not to diss as dead, also consoles did drop below PC if you look closely.

If you look closely I said "almost". Also read my edit.
I also think it's important to consider what the graph looks like from a yearly perspective instead of just a quarterly one.

I wonder if the mobile market is falling becauase it's becoming less and less popular or if it's just because there are so many solid mobile games not backed by publishers like EA and developers like Zynga.
Probably the latter.

Their average is still way above the PC. The ups and downs probably have to do with the holiday season and big game releases.

The spikes in console revenue is the Christmas releases.
That's a lot of sales from a demographic that so vocally hates consolized casual shit

Most of those people end up buying them anyway.

Keep in mind this was the same group that was going to boycott Modern Warfare 2 and Left4Dead 2.

IIRC shortly after L4D2 was released about 3/4s of the L4D2 boycott group started playing it.
Well with such great, hardcore PC releases such as medal of honor warfighter, need for speed most wanted, and simcity, there certainly was no surprise that PC sales rose so dramatically!
Wondering why they bother with the mobile market so much. its clearly not replacing PC's and consoles.

High profit margins.
Small teams working on small projects can output a product that sells amazingly well.
