EA has released a free iOS title
Holy shit.
Too bad i'm on Android.
Yeah it is
FPS never really worked too well on touchscreens unless you were carried through by an endless supply of health, ammo and willpower. Obviously, judging by the reviews, this is carrying the same problems.
The problem with FPS games on iOS is that they try too much to emulate full control with virtual sticks and buttons when a Metroid Prime style system would work much better, ie virtal-stick movement, tapping targets to lock on and using whatever virtual buttons to actually shoot or whatever.
I had lots of fun with the modern warfare rip off one on iPhone. Once you get into it it's fun, challenging yes but pleasing.
Seriously though, i'd like to give it a try. The Bad Company 2 iphone app was apparently not too bad I heard?
Oh no it's bad, the controls are loose as hell.
It's funny hearing my friend get pissed off when playing gta III on his ipad. He keeps trying to get enough speed to hit a jump and then either he fails at steering or a car crashes into him.
free means it probably sucks oh well
I have Android, too poor to have Iphone.
It features online multiplayer and three weapons.
$10 it's: Sniper Rifle Pistol Knife
No matter how good the game actually is, I just can't have fun playing an FPS on a touch screen. The controls are always just too annoying.
Reminds me of the terrible COD games on the DS
I have Android, too poor to have Iphone.
I have an Android, To smart to buy an Iphone
$10 it's: Sniper Rifle Pistol Knife
I think the sniper rifle is what you get from watching the trailer. The UMP in the screenshots is probably the default weapon.
4 weapons, and you can unlock a 'secret fifth weapon'. 1 map. BFBC2 on iOS wasn't bad at all tbh, and it had at least 10 guns and 4 maps. Its singleplayer wasn't great, but at least it had a decent length campaign for an iPod game. To top it all off, it was only 500 MB, which is great compared to most other shooters on iOS. This game says it's 287 MB but the content isn't proportional to the filesize. It looked like they ripped the engine they used in BFBC2 anyway.
The app is downloaded as an .ipa file which is a compressed file, which decompresses when it's fully downloaded. So it may say 287 MB on the appstore but in reality it can be much much more.
Wow, it looked so good months ago and now it looks like horseshit, good job EA. And no, bc2 (ios) was the worst piece of shit ever, the ratings just show it.
