Teenage cancer fundraiser Stephen Sutton has died peacefully in his sleep, his mother said on his Facebook page. The 19-year-old, from Burntwood in Staffordshire, raised more than £3.2m for the Teenage Cancer Trust after news of his plight spread on social media. In a post announcing Stephen's death, Jane Sutton said he was a "courageous, selfless, inspirational son". Stephen was diagnosed with terminal cancer aged 15. Ms Sutton added: "The ongoing support and outpouring of love for Stephen will help greatly at this difficult time, in the same way as it helped Stephen throughout his journey." Stephen was readmitted to hospital on Sunday after developing breathing difficulties caused by the re-growth of tumours. He had initially set out to raise just £10,000 for charity, but his fundraising campaign attracted huge attention last month after he posted a 'final' selfie online.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-27408818
At least it was peacefully.. damn though, what a contribution to charity from a single person though. It's a real shame he died so young and couldn't beat it, but he'll surely be helping others to beat it in the near future.
Saw someone share an FB post yesterday of 20 hours old that he was in the hospital because he deteriorated so fast, though he was stable, and now he's gone.
