Hey forum, I have a question about growing Siberian/Fly Agaric mushrooms. A friend of mine and I are considering buying seeds and growing them so we have a nice stockpile.
1. Are Siberian Amanitas Muscaria legal to grow and possess within North America (IE I live in North Dakota).
2. What is the process for planting, growing, and harvesting mushrooms?
3. Related to 2, what do I need to buy?
EDIT: Some questions I also have are simple, such as how far apart should you plant the seeds, how far under the dirt should they be planted (or do you just sprinkle them on the surface?), what would be the best fertilizer, etc.
DBLEDIT: I am ordering an ounce of Fly Agarics this weekend, I figure I'll try them and see if I enjoy the trip before I invest in growing a batch. Thread will be updated once they are received and, assuming I decide a grow op sounds good, updated with progress ;)
Huh, i didnt know mushrooms had seeds ;)
as far as i'm aware they're legal in the US, i know theyre legal in England. I don't know how different they are to grow to psilocybin mushrooms, check out www.shroomery.org there's probably advice on how to grow fly agaric ones especially. If i were you though, i wouldn't bother growing these and grow some real magic mushrooms instead. I have a bit of experience in growing magic mushrooms if you need any help
Yes, they are legal. They have spores, not seeds.
Oh, thanks guys :) I was high when I was writing that, sorry. Smoked 3 bowls of Spark-30 at the time.
I'm more interesting in growing amanita muscarias, as they are legal. My friend and I were planning a controlled outdoor grow in his garden. I'm not sure if I would like to risk growing psylocybin mushrooms, and I would have to research the legality of it in my state (though I'm relatively sure ANY form is completely illegal).
The grow won't be occurring until next spring, as weather in North Dakota is dipping down to 40 degrees or so at night. An indoor grow would be an interesting prospect, but I doubt I'd be able to get it past my parents. I'll check shroomery.org and see what I find, thanks guys :)

I'd recommend indoor. Mushrooms require a lot of dampness and controlled temperatures, as well as optimal soil. Get a greenhouse or make your own, and set everything up right. It'll cost more/be more time consuming, but it'll probably ensure better growth!
You cannot grow aminita's, they require a pine tree for the mycellium to grow.
Grow a pine tree
