SAN MATEO, Calif. -- San Mateo authorities have charged several young boys from a local middle school with attempting to rape two 12-year-old girls while on a field trip back in March. Around noon Monday, five boys, ages 12 to 14 years old, appeared before a judge on the second floor of the youth service center, where they faced charges of sexually assaulting fellow students while on a school field trip to Stulsaft Park in Redwood City last March. All of the charges are felony offenses. “There's assault with intent to commit rape, there is sexual battery, there is a lewd act committed to a minor under 14 by force,” said San Mateo Deputy District Attorney James Wade. The incident occurred when, as part of a social studies class, a group of 20 students Kennedy Middle School attended a field trip with two chaperones, a teacher and an assistant. Authorities said that at some point, students went their separate ways for a project, and the group of boys went after two girls from their 7th grade class. “It's a parents’ nightmare, it really is,” said San Mateo Deputy District Attorney James Wade. Wade says the assault took place outside and it lasted between 5 to 8 minutes. The Redwood City School District said all the students involved were part of a newcomer program at the middle school, which means they have only been in the U.S. for less than a year. “This is very disturbing and very distressing to us,“ said Jane Yuster, Redwood City School District. Administrators said the girls didn't report the assault to their school counselor until the last week of school. District officials said Monday that they were investigating and looking at their safety procedures. “Were they being followed as they should have been followed, if they were, how does this happen? Do we need to modify a procedure? What should we do to be better?,” said Yuster. As of Monday, the boys were being held at the juvenile hall in San Mateo. If convicted on all charges, they could face up to 14 years and 9 months in a detention center. http://www.ktvu.com/news/28227892/detail.html
Thats a pretty fucked up thing to do.
2 adults and 20 kids... How did seven of them get away from the adults with nobody watching? They should charge the chaperons as being criminally negligent.
There isn't a "Rating" button for disgusting. I wish there was one, simply for this thread.
Well those are 5 great examples of human brilliance.
Seriously. If you're gonna commit a crime, commit it against someone who doesn't know you. Trying to rape a classmate on a class trip is like begging to be sent to jail.
name fits
As does his Avatar [editline]14th June 2011[/editline] They should be sent to adult prison. Then they can feel what real rape is like.
The Redwood City School District said all the students involved were part of a newcomer program at the middle school, which means they have only been in the U.S. for less than a year.
Fox is going to love this.

Really screwed up that a bunch of 12 year olds try to rape someone.
Really FP? Funny and winner?

God bless America.
Don't blame the boys; blame the parents. Negligent parenting leads to shit like this. The children were raised improperly by the parents at an early age, thus leading to a morally disengaged mind. [editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
God bless America.
Yes because this kind of stuff only occur in America.
God bless America.
Yep, because it's all America's fault, especially since the article says they've been in the country for less than a year.

Amazing no one said this yet, but isnt it ODD how those 3 girls that sexually assaulted that 10 year old boy didnt have SHIT happen to them, while these 5 boys are prosecuted as normally against these two girls?
If convicted they're going to spend 14 years 9 months in a detention center. GOOD LUCK FOR FUCKING UP YOUR LIFE BOYS!

Women are seen as defenseless and must be protected at all costs.
The Redwood City School District said all the students involved were part of a newcomer program at the middle school, which means they have only been in the U.S. for less than a year.
That's fucking disgusting. So they come to a country, and then go try to gang-rape two girls, not even a year after living in U.S.
No, what they're saying is those immigrant boys are coming over here and sexually assaulting girls that American boys don't want to assault.
14 years? What the hell, that's ridiculous. What is a 20 year old, who spent his life imprisoned, going to do when he gets out? Likely something that will get them sent back to prison. So the stupid, emotion bent system would be completely counter-productive and do nothing but ruin some people's lives (as well as waste tax-payer money to keep people behind bars, if you think like that).
That's fucking disgusting. So they come to a country, and then go try to gang-rape two girls, not even a year after living in U.S.
Anyone know what country or area of the world they were from? I need to add to my racial stereotypes based on a single rare incident!
society is fucked up [editline]14th June 2011[/editline] honestly not that surprised this kind of thing happens and that makes me sad
