An investigation for attempted homicide was filed, Paris police chief Michel Cadot said. One officer was hospitalized. Protesters in Paris and elsewhere alleged the police have instigated the violence during a series of demonstrations against a controversial labor reform. "Everybody hates the police!" they chanted at Paris' Place de la Republique, where several hundred police officers gathered on their lunch break to condemn "anti-cop hate." The protesters were dispersed with pepper spray.
What is it with the French and rioting? To me it sounds like they're pissed the police stop them from burning down people's businesses and homes.
What reasoning do they have to hate the cops in France? I thought they were pro police after the shooting.

With the amount France has been through recently you'd think they would have their shit together at least a little bit by now
Here their logic angry at the goverment. Police works for goverment Police is goverment. Hate police. Fuck ze cops!
It's half legit. If you riot against government, who comes? Police. But believe me, police are fed up with governments shit too.
There are riots all the time in France. I guess they see it as a national historical heritage or something.
More like a casual pastime. And here I thought the US was the only one with police-related riots. France's isn't even about racism.
its not a france-thing, its not a us thing, people hate the police everywhere and blame them for their problems. yesterday there was a huge riot in my city(Wroclaw, Poland, no idea how to turn on flagdog) with people throwing stones and big fucking street signs at cops, riot police got involved and i actually got to see them clash as i was passing through to meet with a friend and get high.
Thing about France is that the police is usually not all that disliked notably due to the recent attacks on Paris and Charlie Hebdo. The kind of people who dislike the police and will riot are usually on the poorer side of the population, and typically come from families that immigrated from Maghreb two or three generations ago.
So they have them in France too? There's a yearly anti-police protest in Montreal. How much violence there is seems to vary from year to year.
