I'm new to this thread thing so bare with me. I own 2 500 gig Sea gate hard drives and recently the secondary hard drive has died. Well I think its died since windows doesn't even recognize it. Anyway On that hard drive i kept my video games a photos and such so I lost all of them and I'm replacing it but whenever i try to install my games to the original hard drive for example a program for games called Steam it says "Error 1327.Invalid Drive:L:\". So yeah of course it says that because it can't recognize the hard drive but there seems to be no way to get the remenints of all the games off the main drive. I have tried to delete the games through the registry by following the Microsoft instructions but the games still show up in the Add/Remove Programs application. Now i seem to be stuck so any help would be greatly appreciated.
My secondary hard drive was using a partition I don't see how noting that would solve anything but just saying.
So what I am trying to do now if what I said wasn't clear is that I want to reinstall all my games on my main drive(which isn't using a partition)
Oh yes and I should note that i am using Windows XP Professional SP3
Try renaming the Drive to C: or C.
diskmgmt.msc
See if you can rename them, or see if you can find them or some shit.

Wait the entire hard drive failed, or a partition got corrupted or something?

Yes sir the entire drive L died. Although the drive was running on a partition to split it in two.
One died but the other is okay?
You can probably fix that in diskmgmt.

Yes the main drive C is totally fine.
The second drive died. I'll look that up thank you kind sir.

Hmm ok thanks for the concern but I wasn't looking for a partition utility.
Unless there was another reason for givin me that. :)

How can I rename a dead drive?
or do you mean the registry file?
Wouldn't a reformat after you save all your critical information solve this problem?
Right click on the drive, change drive letter and paths.
See if that works.

reformat?
reformat?
At the moment reformatting is not an option due to other users on the pc.
A reformat's a little extreme yet.
I suggest you reinstall steam. If your c: drive is fine, there shouldn't be a problem. Weird.

Weird indeed, and yes i have tried to delete it from add/remove programs and its continuously gives the same error 1327 notification. I have also followed instructions off the Microsoft site to delete it from the registry but there was still no luck in that.
