Even cheaper. Health gadgets like heartrate monitors aren't really secured because it makes it cheaper and there's no real point to it. Take a look at the HackRF/Ubertooth; those were made to convince people to secure things. But health devices like this don't need security because you're a weirdo if you want to stalk someones healthiness. On to the client-server security; it won't lead to a breach of a user database, it'll just make MITM attacks more potent. HTTPS is all thats really needed and if someone goes through the trouble of getting your password through an unencrypted wifi network then that's your fault. /rant
Any bluetooth enabled phone can do this and you can get those for about £10.
