So yeah my problem is that I need a material which is heat resistent like ceramic and which is also non conductive, well .. just like ceramic :v: The problem with ceramic is that it's incredibly hard and I need to drill holes in it and also need to mill parts out. It would be nice if anyone could recommend me some material which has nearly the properties of ceramic but which is softer. Thanks in advance!
What is this material for?
styrofoam
Kevlar. [editline]08:09PM[/editline] Or asbestos.
It's for a heating modul in a vaporizer so it shouldn't be toxic. But I will look into kevlar.
A hard rubber.
An old tire shred?
I guess I'll just try to use clay. Anyway thanks for you help!
You could always used greenware (ceramic that hasn't been fired), put holes in it and then have it fired afterward. Greenware's really soft and you could easily put holes in it by scraping it lightly. I don't know where you might try to find some though, only place around here that sold unfired greeware closed years ago. I know this because I used to paint ceramics for fun.
