60gb of hard drive space?!
What the hell? Are all the sounds in FLAC and all the textures uncompressed?
Holy hell.
Can't wait for the days when a game is 100 gb big.
60GB, go fuck yourself
Downloading the beta

What scares me is that it's 60gb for the vanilla game. This shit is going to be over 100gb with the premium content :tinfoil:
fucking uncompressed audio. laziness in porting
Why are AAA games just not cutting down size anymore? "Next gen" doesn't mean everything has to be 40+ GB of software.
Anyone having issues connecting to the origin servers?
You guys really need to upgrade your HDD space. Games won't get smaller in the future.

Storage is cheap. That's the one constant in computing. Outside of natural disasters ruining production, a massive HDD is fucking cheap compared to other components.
Uncompressed audio might not be the root of the problem here, but if it is, at least it'll sound good hopefully? 60GB is pretty fucking big and just audio alone shouldn't cause that, wonder how much stuff the story contains for things like cutscenes and shit, if they're pre-rendered then that's a nice place to waste storage.

Ain't making that 60GB any less, though. It's clearly not compressed, which is by all accounts should be. Laziness on the dev's part.

There's no real reason to waste more time compressing assets when it really won't affect profits all that much, and if it fits on the blue-ray disk, then it's fine.
Yeah there is no reason why the game should be uncompressed, especially with audio where its been shown that a person can't tell the difference between a 320 kb/s MP3 file and FLAC.

Because now days it's all about that time crunch. Why optimize everything when they can optimize to their target framerate on their systems/consoles, and then say right, that's that, next item on our list please. There's also the fact that Blu-Rays offer room to be that lazy, as well
Better bet your ass that if they had to put this game on DVD's it wouldn't be no 60 fucking GB
How the fuck is it bigger on launch than BF4 is now with five massive DLC's ???
Storage might be cheap but internet speed isn't.
I said this when Titanfall's size was revealed, and I say it again
Stand tall for download speed fall
Aside from the space

Since when are the 290 and 760 on par? Last time I checked the 290 is way above the 760 :v:

Games like this one don't take 60GB because they need to but because of laziness and bad optimisation. There's no reason to defend this trend.
