[quote=Dennis Skinner MP]"Would the Foreign Secretary try to recall along with me as I hid under the stairs when two fascist dictators Mussolini and Hitler were raining bombs on towns and cities in Britain?" Mr Skinner asked the Foreign Secretary.
"Now this government is hand-in-hand with another fascist – Trump. What I say to him is do the decent thing and ban the visit! This man is not fit to walk in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela."

Dennis Skinner is not exactly known for holding his tongue, but it's still surprising to hear something like this being said in the house of commons.
Tell me about it.
I don't think you need to put quotes "another fascist"
Good. It's time we called a spade a spade, eh Captain James?

statements made by individuals tend to be in quotation marks in news headlines.

it's verbatim

Put the quotations there to make it clear these are words from an MP's mouth and not just an editorialised title. Too late to change it now anyway :v:
I've made several posts during the election and after that Trump isn't a fascist, only the closest thing to facism American's have seen in their lifetimes. But his recent rhetoric regarding the press and the constant entrenchment of his base has me really worried.

That's the big worry for me really. I can't recall the last time (if ever?) an American president has attempted to supress the press in such a way. To me, this is an attack on democracy as in my eyes the free press is one of the most important aspects of a real democracy.

nixon did, and it backfire on him big league
My favourite Dennis Skinner insult is still that one time he said "Half of the Conservative members on the opposite bench are crooks!"
The speaker told him basically he couldn't say that and had to rescind his remarks, so he replied:
"Okay then, half of the members on the opposite bench are not crooks!"
Here in Sweden, they call the Sweden Democrats (anti-immigrant party) "neo-fascists" and they aren't even close to as bad as Trump is. Trump and his allies actually acts a whole lot like fascists.
